I finally picked up my my06 yesterday from one of my local main dealers and am well chuffed it is superb. However when i ordered it i said i wanted all the extras that came on the 56 model car, dynamic response, one touch windows, coolbox etc. This car i was told had the lot, including the 20" wheels and sunroof.....Happy days. However upon getting home last night with my ear to ear smile and reading through the extensive manual i see that if the car is fitted with a cool box it should hve a switch at the top front (mine hasn't) when i picked the car up i asked specifically about the cool box and was told it came on with the air conditioning, which being non the wiser i went along with. Now i am not happy, i am going ot p[hone them up this morning and suggest that they retro fit a cool box for me as it was meant to have one. What i need to know is can this be done, has anyone done it and what was the cost? Needless to say i don't feel i should have to pay anything towards it but.

Johny Fresh is right there is a switch which has a blue led when on. The line about it coming on with the Aircon is a total lie! Is the dealer you purchased the car from an actual Land Rover dealer or an indipendant. If it's LR then that Lie is totally out of order as they could not claim it was a geniune mistake. One other question, what specification/model is your car, S, SE, HSE or SuperCharged? Yes it was bought from a landrover main dealer. It is an 2.7v6 my06 HSE in Java with alpaca

That's odd then I was sure the MY06 HSE had a cool box as standard! Maybe someone with an MY06 on here could confirm? Another way to check is to remove the coin tray that sits on top of where the cool box should be, look inside, Is it a white interior with a metal feel or is it just black plastic. They cannot claim to have not known this! Outrageous! I would come down on them like an tonne of bricks and report the guy who lied so convincingly!

According to my European specs LR sheet, it's only standard with TDV8 HSE Plus MY10. 2010 TDV6 3.0 HSE Santorini Black Tan Full Leather

It has the black plastic interior

Yes it became standard from October 06 thus a my56 along with the dynamic response, brembos, one touch windows in the front and a few other bits and pieces. I was looking for a my56 so that i could have all the relevant goodies, and the sales guy came up with this car on a 06 plate but said it had all the upgrades that the my56 cars have. Sounded good to me as it was a bit less money so i went for it.

At the end of the day i love the car as it is, but it leaves a bad tast in my mouth as i was expecting a fridge/coolbox. My wife was looking forwad to puting her G&T's in it and the it would be very useful on our trips through france in the summer for the kids drinks etc.

Ultimately i feel that they should fit one in for me at no extra cost. But i just wanted to know just how complicated the job is. I would assume the wiring is all there and it is just a case of changing the unit over. Or is this over simplifying things a bit.
