United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Tangiers Orange

Got 20mpg on a 100 mile trip down south, driving pretty much how I wanted - i.e. overtaking as and when! Mixture of fast A-roads and sweeping B-roads, so not bad for a 4.4 V8 with full G4 kit fitted, 4x G4 alloys in the boot and a load of other stuff too! - Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE G4 Challenge vehicle (FOR SALE)
- BMW 330Ci M-Sport coupe
- Suzuki GSX-R750 K6 'Stealth' - trackdays and high speed tourer

My remapped 2.7 TDV6, my daily route on B roads only 10 mile each way to and from work in winter i used to get 19-20 mpg Shocked summer same route it went up to 22-23mpg, on a motorway (heavy right foot) 25mpg.
2012 3.0 SDV6 my daily route to work when my motor was new i was getting 25-26 mpg. 2500 Miles on the clock now i'm getting 28-29 mpg Thumbs Up I went for a spirited run on monday 2 passangers + me and 2 dogs, 62 mile of motorway it was up to 32mpg then 130 miles of fast up down dale of yorkshire it was showing total average of 31.9 mpg total miles covered 192, used just over 1/4 of a tank of fuel, miles showing to empty on computer was 274. Shocked Its getting better the more miles i put on the clock and i only ever put shell diesel in it from new, not cheap supermarket crap Whistle So i would say go for the 3.0 litre if your budget can stretch to it, Thumbs Up but don't forget mine is the newer 255 bhp version of the 3.0 and not the earlier 245 bhp engine. hope this helps with your decision. Wink

Those are great figures Ady Thumbs Up

I did Malmesbury-Leeds and back again using motorway and A429 Fosseway ( Mr. Green ) so good average speeds Whistle

The olde TDV8 returned 25mpg so not too shabby considering my current gearbox gremlins... RRS gone

I usually do Ady (currently around the 480 mark each tank, but with the additional weight and 'drag' factor of 4 bikes on the back, I wonder how that will effect the fuel used. Will report back on Monday Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I just don't look Confused
I reckon when I hoof my V8 the joy, elation, sensation in the crotch, silly smile with the window down listening to the tone etc etc is worth every penny.
Balance it out with a week left in the garage while you polish and nurture it.
Doubt I could afford it for commuting any distance though. Now - Black 2008 3.6 TDV8 RRS orgasmic
Gone - Black 2006 2.7 HSE RRS problems
Gone - Green 2008 SWB Defender fully loaded; brill

United Kingdom

Just did a 700 mile trip to France and back in my 2009 2.7 TDV6. 2 adults and 2 kids in their car seats, boot full to capacity (heavy stuff). Filled up at Tesco in the UK and Esso in France. Spent a lot of time stuck in traffic jams in/around London both ways (live in NW London so have to travel across London in order to get to Dover) and on some French motorways too, also local road driving in France. Would classify the mileage somewhere between "combined" and "extra urban". Got 30 mpg.

Changes every week Ady (I get emailed the new rate) but it's usually between 4 and 6 pence a litre cheaper than the National Average

Curent pump prices here are 140.9 and I'm paying 134.9

I purposely put £60 in the other day, and when I got my invoice a week later it was for just over £50 RRS gone
