Most I've seen is 27mpg, I normally get 20mpg as it only does on average two 3.5 mile journeys per day Thumbs Up 2.7 TDV6

My readout gives an average of 26.2 but doing the calculations manually it comes back at 23.5 so if you are lucky enough to run a supercharger stay well away from the calculator Whistle Whistle MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

Guys,

I'm buying a RRS soon, and I'm weighing up whether to spend the extra on a 3.0TDV6 or go the cheaper route of a 2.7TDV6
What are realistic mpg figures to expect for 1) motorway, and 2) town driving for the two engines?
Anyone gone from one to the other and can confirm from experience?

I've driven both, and I want the 3.0, so if you can confirm greatly improved economy over the 2.7, that would be great! Smile

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

My remapped 2.7 TDV6, my daily route on B roads only 10 mile each way to and from work in winter i used to get 19-20 mpg Shocked summer same route it went up to 22-23mpg, on a motorway (heavy right foot) 25mpg.
2012 3.0 SDV6 my daily route to work when my motor was new i was getting 25-26 mpg. 2500 Miles on the clock now i'm getting 28-29 mpg Thumbs Up I went for a spirited run on monday 2 passangers + me and 2 dogs, 62 mile of motorway it was up to 32mpg then 130 miles of fast up down dale of yorkshire it was showing total average of 31.9 mpg total miles covered 192, used just over 1/4 of a tank of fuel, miles showing to empty on computer was 274. Shocked Its getting better the more miles i put on the clock and i only ever put shell diesel in it from new, not cheap supermarket crap Whistle So i would say go for the 3.0 litre if your budget can stretch to it, Thumbs Up but don't forget mine is the newer 255 bhp version of the 3.0 and not the earlier 245 bhp engine. hope this helps with your decision. Wink

Cheers all, and especially Ady 555 - that's some useful and encouraging info.

Thankfully my 2ltr petrol BMW only gets 32mpg at best on long runs, and late teens for town driving, so I'm pleased to understand that similar if not better figures can be expected. Smile
