How to remove TDV6 2.7 STARTER MOTOR

Hi new to forum, need some help with how to change the starter motor on a 2006 2.7 TDV6 RRS.
I removed the sump gaurds and eventually found starter but looks like a Censored to get out !!
Has anyone discussed this before with instructions or pictures please help if you can.

Malaysia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Chawton White

After removing the engine undershield, try this...

Release the fuel cooler.
* Remove the retaining bolt.

Release the fuel filter housing and support bracket.
* Remove the two retaining bolts.

Reposition the fuel cooler and the fuel filter housing and support bracket.
Release the battery positive cable.
* Remove the clip retaining bolt.

Remove the starter motor support bracket.
* Remove the four retaining bolts.

Release the starter motor.

Disconnect the battery positive cable from the starter motor solenoid
* Remove the terminal nut insulator
* Remove the nut
Disconnect the switch lead from the starter motor solenoid
* Remove the integral connector nut


Remove the starter motor Malaysia Boleh!
4.2SC Chawton White, Stormers
Tasmod's Sills, Wind Deflectors, LR Sills
Clear Side Repeaters, Towbar
Larini Sports Exhaust, K&N Air Filter

how about disconnecting the battery before you start the job

Thanks Bobby, It's allways better to get advice from someone that has done the job before. Bow down

I allways disconnect battery first anyway when working on electrical system Ronniet , but a good point for those that might not be technically minded.

Last question Bobby are there only 2 bolts securing the starter through the back of the bell housing ?

Sorry, yes..




you have to remove the two retaining bolts to release the starter motor. Malaysia Boleh!
