Black smoke usually points towards a split intercooler pipe.

Not yet, the last time it went in for diagnostic (EGR) it wasn't smoking much but I did tell them it is now really bad.

Knowing your luck sag, once they take your egr valve out they will probably say your egr valve cooler is leaking like it was on mine another common fault.

Just been speaking to Dad in the office ( off early to watch the boys do the job against the French!!) and he has said if LR can get the RRS running nice and tight he will be willing to buy it off me so we can at least keep it in the family as he totally loves it.

If not he is buying an RRS anyway....so not getting rid of me just yet  LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

They fixed it. All. Result!! And all covered under Warranty

Got a call this morning to say it had all been fixed and the car was running perfectly. Collected it before midday and although there is a tiny bit of smoke, it is 99% better than before. I was told this will clear out eventually as it is just residual carbon. Will probably run some Diesel cleaner through it now too with the aim of clearing up the injectors.

All parts fixed too - New fuel cap, new clips for mats, service indicator reset and new wiper arms/blades fitted.

Overall.....very happy. Car runs very well, feels a million times better with everything fixed and knowing it is in a good state. Was obviously told that if there are any issues they will take it straight back in. Need to take it on a good run out now as it hasn't seen much mileage since Switzerland.

A few days after getting back, the smoke starting chucking out the back again. Got a quick video but it's not great as the car is not in drive but sat in Park at my parents house.

My phone hasn't picked up the smoke too well, but it is a lot thicker than in the video.

So, on the phone to LR once again who got me in this morning. A call this afternoon tells me that I have a hole in my Intercooler and my Used Vehicle Warranty wont't cover it.
Straight on the phone to Stratstone (The supplying dealer) who have known about the issues since they dropped it off in April. They have sort of agreed to foot the bill, but I will have to pay Leicester first and then they will reimburse me.

Just waiting to have that in an email from the Dealership manager and will let Sturgess Leicester fit me a new intercooler.
