England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Thanks guys!

No hand controls yet. They should be here this week though....although had some bad news on that whole matter.

The DVLA have had my licence for around 10 weeks (following my accident in the Q7) and I got a letter through the post today saying it could be up to 8 weeks until I hear anything back. Bit of a blow as I was due to move house this coming weekend so making life difficult!

Will keep you updated Smile LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

Aw that's bad. I'm moving house to so know it's stressful so the driving license trouble is stress you don't need.

It can only get better from here! Keep us posted looking forward to hearing about your driving experience.

Just a quick update guys.

I had a low power issue last week and after lots of help from the forum I believe its an EGR issue. It hasn't happened again since last week but I have bought the blanking plates from eBay and will fit them this week. I'm hoping that remedies the problem.

Also my hand controls were fitted today and I have been told the electrical accelerator and hand brake are working a treat. The car is being dropped off tomorrow morning so will finally get to drive my RRS a month after it was delivered.

Will get some details and pics up for anyone who is interested. Time to start modding Twisted Evil LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

Been awful. A full 3 months since I have driven a car after writing off the Q7 Sad

Anyhow, got the car back this morning. All good and working! Will post some pics when I get in from the office. LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

Thanks guys appreciate it Smile So heres some pictures and details of the kit fitted.

It is manufactured by an Italian company company called Guidosimplex and is called a "Ghost under ring accelerator"

Here it is on their site:
http://www.guidosimplex.it/english/prodott...ng%20wheel

And here's another link on their Italian site with a YouTube video of it in motion:
http://ghost.guidosimplex.it/ing/index.asp

The ring behind the wheel is connected to the throttle electronically and the is a brake lever by the side is physically connected to the brake pedal in the footwell.

Here's what the cabin now looks like:

The actual accelerator ring:

The Brake lever and mechanism:

The power switch:

The power switch in the picture above lets me switch off the ring accelerator so anyone else can drive using the conventional pedals. When the system is on, the accelerator pedal becomes inactive.
There is also another switch behind the power switch. This reduces the throttle response by 50% and is designed to be used when needed more delicate throttle response such as parallel parking and so on.
There are also some extra safety features which I wont bore you with!

The whole system was supplied and fitted by Neil at N-Tec Mobility who has been great: http://www.ntecmobility.com/

It's the first of kit's kind in the UK and the manufacturers actually came over from Italy to see it being done and have taken pictures/videos to use as a demo for the product.

Very pleased overall and just glad to be mobile again Smile

Sag

Thanks guys Thumbs Up Not one to be overly concerned about form over function but I am pleased it doesn't look too out of place or detract from the interior.
Just glad I can get to work as and when I please and be a (relatively Laughing ) normal member of society!

Also I have kept my booking at LR for tomorrow to look at the power loss issue. I have the EGR blanking plates but am going to wait and see what they do as it is still covered under the used warranty scheme.

Had it on the motorway yesterday and foot to the floor it topped out at 75mph! Big Cry Although the power issue under 2k/rpm is intermittent it seems to be smoky on start up. Whatever it is, I hope they sort it.

It does sound like your fault is pointing towards the EGR valves and possibly the EGR valve cooler (leaking) is becoming more common on older models now. They will be able to tell if they take out the EGR valve.
