United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Well if you changed the lights back to the originals Mike you would get around £250 back if you sold them on here, they are sort after, the lettering can be taken off and put some new lettering back on correctly, just check when the 06 plate car was first registered, if it was before march 1st 2006 the it will qualify for the cheaper tax bracket which i think its about £250 ish per year but if its after that date you are looking at £465 ish a year Shocked something to bare in mind Thumbs Up

Crikey, that's quite a difference - will definitely check that out!

The light sounds good, I couldn't care less what the lights look like unless the ones it has give a better/brighter headlight in which case I'd keep them as you can never have too bright lights IMO!!

Didn't realise the difference in tax was so much either - I was looking at a couple of 07-reg models too but think I won't bother now!! Shocked - Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE G4 Challenge vehicle (FOR SALE)

OK, neither the silver nor the blue car have had the cambelts changed, both quoting they need doing at 105,000 miles (the blue one also mentioned 7 years). Do most people change them at 7 years or wait until the mileage?

Next service on the silver one is due at 90k, so could just get it done then I guess?

Blue car was registered April 2006, so attracts the higher car tax - that's a big PITA, one of the reasons I am reducing the fleet is to reduce running costs, that isn't gonna help!!

There's another one that I have found, lower mileage than the silver car (although I'm not keen on black cars generally) but reasonable price. Only thing is it doesn't have that "cherished" look about it, more just a car that;s been used daily but the wife and kids rather than looked after meticulously. But then, perhaps the lower mileage is more important?

7 years or 105000 whichever comes first, its a must Wink I would steer clear of a family taxi, i'm guessing it will be full of marks dings and scratch's Rolling Eyes not to mention what the interior must look like. Sorry mike it looks like i'm throwing alot of negitives at you Big Cry but just speaking from experience Thumbs Up

Not at all mate, and I agree entirely about the 'family taxi' - knowing what my mates family taxi Outlander looks like inside, I think I'll steer clear!

I think the blue one is out too - it looks lovely but I'm not a fan of the colour coding and the £465 a year road tax really puts me off when I could have an identical car for £250 a year!

So that brings me to the silver one which ticks all the boxes but does need tax and a cambelt change. Based on those two factors, what would a fair price be do you think? Here's the link again: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/3565905.htm

Have a look see what you think, your idea of immaculate might be different to his Shocked point out the up and coming expenses and see if he is prepared to budge on price to cover these, no harm in looking, ask him if he has any problems with you having your own HPI report doing. Thumbs Up

Thanks Ady. If I aimed for £17,500, would that be fair?

I must admit at this point, I have also seen a local FFRR that has caught my eye - would be a (minimum) £4k saving over the RRS's I'm looking at, and the EMAPS figures suggest a remapped 3.0 Td6 would have virtally identical bhp/Nm figures as a remapped TDV6. This is the car in question: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201213459157797

EMAPS figures:

Diesel Engines

Engine ECU
3.0 TD6 Bosch DDE4.0
174 --> 235bhp
390 --> 500Nm

2.7 TDV6 Siemens
190 --> 230bhp
440 --> 510Nm

At that price, it is tempting! Anyone got any experience of both? - Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE G4 Challenge vehicle (FOR SALE)

Sorry Mike, i can't comment on the FF Rolling Eyes i'm guessing that the FF will be much heavier than the sport so it will need a bit more humf to put it on par with the sport performance wise.

Thanks Ady! The FFRR is only 10 miles from me so off to look at that tonight.

In some ways I like the FFRR - the split tailgate is really handy for so many things, for instance - but then being a young chap without 2 kids and a dog, I don't really need a car quite that large - and the sportier, err, Sport, appeals! But then is quite a bit more money.

Will see how tonights test drive goes! - Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE G4 Challenge vehicle (FOR SALE)

2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Cairns Blue

Hi Mike,

Keep us updated on your search.

I have a Cairns Blue 07 with Ivory that I am still thinking of selling, as I can't bear the thought of my wife using it as the 'family car' (I've kept them out so far!).

It's obviously the higher tax bracket but it may be an option for you down the line if you can't find one a bit cheaper.

Andy

Just under £60k on clock and 12 mths MOT, 6mth tax.

Was looking for £22-23k which I appreciate is a bit higher than your original budget.

There should still be some pics of it on my profile.

Sales would be subject to clearance from SWMBO, who is desperate for me not to get her a boring 'family car' for the kids and dog!
