Garage wrecked my alloys

Local cowboys at AMS Tyres in Paignton have completely wrecked my alloys. Gutted, and now the owner says it's his word against mine. Great, these wheels cost me over £3000. Anyone with advice would be much appreciated, especially if you have been through the same thing. Many thanks in advance

I would suggest that you call the garage and ask for their insurance company details and lodge a complaint that way.

Do you have any photographs of your wheels pre appointment with them . ?

What excatley have they done to them.?

Oh and welcome to the site. Why not create your profile so we all know what car you have Smile

Also did you pay by credit card ? Smile

I've contacted the insurers and they are going to send out an independant engineer so evaluate the damage. The thing is it's my word against his. I have just sent the garage a letter stating the consumer rights act and outlining the damage done. I have taken photos aswell. The owner of the garage basically laughed in my face and told me i was wasting my time, i'm just wondering if anyone else has been through this and what was their outcome. Like he said, it's my word against his as i did not have pictures of the wheels before they entered his garage. So a warning to those of you TAKE PICTURES BEFORE YOU SEND IN YOUR BELOVED BEASTS

Good to name and shame that way worse case scenario he'll have a phyrric victory once everyone knows what a tw Censored t he is Thumbs Up
Then either do a vendor chargeback on your credit card if thats how you paid or start procedings in the Small Claims Court.
If you are sure he did the damage just fight him all the way it won't cost you much, definately worth the hassle.

im sure the web will now take care of him for you and his future business! Thumbs Up

I had mine refurbed earlier this year, looked fantastic then I jetwashed them and the alloy paint/powdercoat started flaking off Big Cry i kicked up a fuss only to get the Censored sser telling me ive obviously knocked them, bearing in mind this was on all four wheels and randomly splatted accross the whole wheel, not even the edge of the rim! I had his manager come out and take a look, ive never met such an appologetic guy and they were redone free of charge! now there excellent and particularly easy to keep clean? Confused

Pictures would help a lot more than multiple postings, and or a description of how the wheels are wrecked.

Laughing just reported the numerous identical post, no need for them as people can see the original

Not good for a garage to do this, how have they damaged them? Laid on face, up against a wall, scratch by machine?

Thats nothing. Well i know its not nothing. But a good friend of mine took his 55 plate disco into a someone to have a service done on it (can't mention names) and on the way home it started whistling like mad. Further inspection reveleald someone had dropped a bolt down the intake witch had very quickly minced the turbo to bits. Big Cry

It's all about the attitude of the owner.

I had a 911 Turbo wheel minced by the tyre jack in a well known tyre centre. When I complained the manager was horrified and launched an investigation before my eyes.

A metal valve cap had become lodged in the mechanism and dropped onto the surface which was then spun by the machine. Result three big gouges in the rim.

I had a new wheel and free new tyre the very next day!

Small Claims court - always seems to favour the person lodging the claim...so it might be you need to go that route.

But lets see the damage first. Mike

Have to resize remaining pics to upload but one photo in gal

[code]Thanks guys, can't sleep, i'm so upset by this i'm up at stupid o'clock making cheesecake! Have uploaded one pic so far. I have contacted the insurers and they are sending out an engineer to assess the damage, also contacted consumer trades and will send the letter they gave me tomorrow. I could tell that he has absolutely no intention of repairing the damage they did, so i guess my only way to make him pay is to name and shame him. At least that way people will be aware of what a dissapointing human being he is.

So the numerous posts are to make sure as many people know about it. It's called despair!!!

Ok it's not acceptable but to be honest I was expecting to see the crap kerbed out of them, damage to the rim from the Tyres being taken off.......I know you're Censored ...but really, is it the end of the world in terms of what they have done?
