2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Santorini Black vs Baltic Blue

Hi everyone

I have just ordered by first RRS! MY12 HSE, in Santorini Black with Ivory interior and gloss black finish and privacy glass.

Have been looking at some images over the past days and am wondering if I made the right choice on colour!

What is everyone's thoughts on Baltic blue vs Santorini? I would keep the ivory/gloss black interior.

I also opted against the dual view screen as thought it was a bit pointless if I am driving most of the time. Does anyone feel strongly enough to convince me I should add it to the order?!

I'd be grateful for any quick responses as I think my car is going to build soon!

Cheers

Andorra 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Fuji White

Firstly.... congratulations......
Of course it is purely subjective.....
i ordered white.... but I do live in the mountains..... my second choice colour would always be black in a RRS.... boring as it may be .. there is a reason why it is the most popular choice colour..... because it just simply looks fab on the car !!
On re sale... it is likely to be marginally easier to sell... due to its popularity....
Having said that... it still looks great in Baltic and does not become un saleable... so it really is down to whether you want to run with the pack or be a little more individual..... and I mean a little IMO,,!!!!
If it's a SE or HSE you're getting I think the black gloss surrounds on the radiator grill and side air vents together with the black plastic mouldings.... blend much better with the black than blue.....
Ivory and GBL is a fantastic combination... brightens up the whole car and looks very sumptuous... I had to go with Blk due to the Fuji exterior colur...
I ordered the dual view.... and whilst it is a great piece of kit I've found it doesn't really get used......

What is the rest of your spec.... let us know what you opted for in the end... 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

Personal opinion but i think Black exterior- Ivory interior will look more modern than Baltic Blue with Ivory, when we looked i was offered a few Buck Blues with ivory and it was all a bit Mid 90s Range Rover for us. I like Buck/Baltic Blue with black interior but we couldn't find one at the time.

Thumbs Up with the new car 2011 MY- RRS HSE - Zermatt -Ebony-Piano .... its a monochrome world

You hit the nail on the head.... yes the Baltic mid blue and linen was very mid 90's... had an alcantara 10 seater sofa in the same colours Rolling Eyes way back then !! 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

intrestingly one of the reasons we struggled to get a Buck Blue/ Ebony car is most dealers won't specify a dark outside-dark inside car as demo/showroom car. I guess the exception is black-black. 2011 MY- RRS HSE - Zermatt -Ebony-Piano .... its a monochrome world

England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I'm due to collect my car on 1st March - Baltic Blue, Ivory interior, Black Piano trim.

I decided to go for Baltic Blue as I wanted my car to stand out against the normal black and grey RRS that you see out on the roads. I also happen to belive that a dark blue large car is a little more classy (no offence intended!) Next time you see the Royals step out of one of their FFRR's look at the colour........

If you look in the MY 2012 RRS sales broucher the cars shown on pages 5, 20, 28 & 59 are Baltic Blue and I think that the colour really makes the car.

The above is just my opinion and I did consider going for the Orkney Grey.

Jim

I was told to go for the Dual View as it is an option that improves its re-sell on the used market, even if you don't use it yourself.

Roll on the 1st of March for me as well! 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

I didn't bother with the dual view.

When we talk about resale values most of us buying new will probably trade in with a LR dealer in 3 years for the new model RRS. By this time the RRS will be a totally different beast and dual view won't really make that much difference.

Once again .....just my own personal view

Good choice boombasam Thumbs Up See here Wink

I had a similar dilemma, I was down to black (Sumatra at the time), Orkney Grey and Buckingham Blue (Don't tell Jim that though Laughing ) in that order.
I settled on Black, as most of my cars in the past have been black and I like them, personal opinion of course, but I think the RRS does look good in it. I too went for the Ivory interior and grand black lacquer to lighten things up a bit.

Dual screen, although sometimes I convince myself that I should have ordered it, the reality is that I wouldn't use it, yes, the car may be slightly more desirable in the second hand market, but to be honest, mine will more than likely be traded in so I can't see it making that much of a difference. Agreed... on all extras... they really make no difference to re sale value at all..... all the dealers go by glasses guide anyway... all it does is increase the desirability making it easier for the dealer to sell on.....
It could help a little though in a private sale... but not a lot... it'll just help you sell it... but not for that much more...

I say... only buy it if you're going to use it...

All

Thanks for the feedback!

I am leaning towards Santorini now and the ivory/GBL interior.

Also tempted to add the side steps on delivery!

Want the thing to just go to build now so I can stop changing my mind!
