2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Land Rover Experience Days

I know that LR have stopped giving out free days after you have bought a new car, but I have just had an invite to go and test drive a "new" Freelander offroad for half a day. The letter I have recieved says that I have expressed an interest in purchasing a Freelander............... not as far as I know as I already have the Sport and a Defender. What on earth would I want a test drive in a Freelander for. I owned one 6 years ago and offroaded it it a lot. I think LR customer research has gone a bit off the tracks, boom boom Laughing 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The car that LR are offering to test is the current Freelander Sportman, Freelander2 hasn't been launched yet (November I think). 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

From what I have read and heard from the local dealer it will not get TR. Curently TR requires the car to air suspension and for a car selling in the price range of the Freelander this would make it too expensive. It may be an option on high spec versions. The lowest spec versions of the D3/LR3 don't have TR or air suspension. There is a possiblity it will get a dual range gearbox and there is also some new technology being introduced on F2 but I don't have any idea what it will be. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Is that right about lowest spec D3 not having air/TR?

I'd always thought it was standard on all.

Sportman, TR had not been developed for the L322RR when it was launched, it was the "new technology" that LR launched with L319 (LR3/D3 to everybody else!) RRS (L320) got Dynamic Response as it's special new tech. I think that you will find TR goes into the 2007 facelifted L322 RR this year........ along with a huge price hike and the TDv8 engine 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The wife got one of these too - although the text of the accompanying letter acknowledged she already had a FL. I have no clue what LR marketing is up to... this is what happens when you staff a dept full of women Wink

Still not received ours yet!

See I'm going to have to kick some backside at Harwoods.

They told us we'd get one so they can either sort it out with LR or pay for it themselves. I've got the name and number of the Dealer Principle now! Twisted Evil Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

ST Glyn Woodage is your man. Did you get an invite to their own off road day?

BTW Freelander 2 will have a simplified TR, no Rock Crawl and I believe no M&R. It doesn't need EAS to work as it is an ECU remap that in D3 and RRS will only go into certain modes when in off road or low ratio.

It is likley to be quicker than RRS although probably not SC or TDV8, but you never know with the 3.2 volvo engine.
