Water in Fuel warning?

Firstly, hello to all Very Happy

I've owned my RRS for over a year and have read many threads on here, but this is my first question so I thought I would register and pick your brains!

I don't use the RRS much, and the last time it was was filled was in Shell at the start of the month. Over the Xmas period it has been sat a lot unused, but when I hopped in it to go to the shops the other day I got the suspension warning? This went after an ignition cycle and has only returned once since but I now have the new "water in fuel" warning?

My car has the extended warranty so I phoned the dealers yesterday who seemed confused and told me the earliest they can look at it is the second week in Jan but not to worry, it is probably just from lack of use.

I am slightly concerned about the water in fuel warning, although it is running perfectly as always, and I need to do a 500 mile round trip next week and would prefer to go in the RRS.

Has anyone any input on this error?

Best regards,

Lompi

I got it a couple of times after using the same Tesco garage but I just kept driving and the message went away after a few miles. I've changed garages and not had it since which is now about 6 weeks ago. I was reading up on it when it happened and it appears that it is perfectly normal for the fuel filter to encounter some water which it seems to store ready for emptying/changing at the next service.

Drain the water from the fuel filter via the drain and get it looked at as soon as you can. 07MY RRS TDV6
