Manual Air Recovery System (MARS)

Anyone have any additional info or knowledge of this system (or alternatives), together with any thoughts over it's merits?

this system was an advantage on the old range rovers as they were very prone to dropping the bump stops. The rrs has an updated air suspension system, that is no where near as prone as th p38 at dropping. The MARS system is not really needed on the RRS

Thanks - take the point you are making but is it a case that the equipment is now more reliable or is there a design change or redundancy in the newer systems that would not allow this to happen in the future?

I've certainly read alot about failure of the air compressor units. What happens when this fails and you use all the air in the receiver tank - surely you loose the ability to change height?
