Sorry to drag up an old thread but when I bought my car it came with a tow bar in the boot, anyway I went to put it on the other day and not knowing how it worked I managed to snap the key, I have got the key out and taken off the green handle also removed the pear shaped plate but managed to loose the position of the splined shaft, can anyone explain how the tow bar is supposed to work, because I see it has a red backing plate should that turn the lock or does the green handle pull out and then turn?

I'm new to the RRS I have a 2010 and I'm looking for a used detachable tow bar, there appears to be lots out there. My question is are the tow bars model specific or are they interchangeable. If they are interchangeable which ones would fit?
