England 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zermatt Silver
Nightmare introduction!

This is my first Range Rover after a selection of BMW ,Merc and Porsche I am starting to regret it! I bought a 2006 RR Sport V8 Supercharged 2 weeks ago and so far:

My remote keeps letting me down locking me out of the car.The passenger door won't open by key.

The passenger door is deadlocked and won't open.

The SATNAV only gives voice directions when the icon is touched.

Worst of all the car splutters when starting and every other journey the revs are limited to 4000 rpm and shudders at idle. The engine has been checked to have no faults and it is suggested that it is an airflow unit problem!

Not an ideal intro to the marque! Anyone have any remedies?

Yep, take it to a dealer quick Exclamation

As the car is nearly 6 years old, did you get any worthwhile warranty Question Agreed not an ideal intro to the "marque" Whistle , but it could happen with any of the aforementioned as lots on here will confirm, one here for sure!

Booked in for next week but was just wondering if these were common problems with easy solutions.

What's the millage on your sport? Who checked the engine? Main dealer or indie? It might be worth resetting the car. Remove battery terminals and touch them both together and that will hard reset it. Only a thought. The passenger front door is the only door with a lock so any thing goes wrong with it you will not get into it so be careful mate. MY11 Autobiography supercharged. Santorini Black. Gone MY08 Supercharged HST. Java black. Ivory premium interior. Rear screens. Privacy. Missed a lot.
Gone MY04 Discovery V8 Petrol ES Premium. Awesome.

On mine, the key works but you feel like your going to break it if you keep turning then It clicks and the door opens

I would probably say if your new to the car this would be the reason you dont buy blind and do lots of digging into the car first! Mike

I wouldnt let this put you off mate, every model under the sun has a few lemons. To reasure you Ive had loads of Range Rovers and my 06 S/C Sport was my fav off them all, was also the most reliable. Thumbs Up

SAT NAV: I had a similar issue with the SatNav, if you play about with the settings you will find the option to turn on off voice commands, mine was set up the same when I first bought it.

Key : Sounds like a battery issue in the key, in order to operate the doors when u press the button the fob sends a encrypted code to the car, it gets that code from the car itself when its initially programmed. Its common for the batteries in these keys to fail to charge over time which means that there isnt enough power in the battery to send the code to the car to unlock. When its plugged into the ignition it gets power hence how its starts the car, but it should also recharge. New key is around £100 but will have to be programmed by LR dealer, ive heard of people managing to swap out the battery but it involves stripping the key and soldering in a new battery.

SPLUTTERING: I would suggest that its defo a problem with the engine, the car cant limit the revs without recording and engine fault. if its senses a minor fault more than three times in a journey with will drop into limp home mode the route cause may well be Fuel/Air but there is no way that the car wont record the route cause. Suggest you get it into a Dealer or specialists, dealers can be good and less costly than you think, alternatively ask on the forum for a specialist in your locale and give them a bell

Whats the mileage of the car and where did you get it from ?? Was it a private sale?

Definitely sounds like merely a settings issue on the sat nav.

Back into settings menu then two buttons with nav written on them, one with a cross thru it. Push the other one and that should be sorted Thumbs Up Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?
