Thanks Paul, I was going to have a TC done in April but after the car went back to the dealer with an ECU problem it came back running a lot better than before so I decided not to go ahead. Currently averaging 29-30mpg in day to day running and have managed 32.4 on a drive from Solihull to Scotland a couple of weeks back so on the economy front I don't need any tweeks at present - I find the standard tune performance since the ECU upgrade is now actually OK for 99% of the driving I do. I wouldn't mind some more attractive tailpipes though. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I find operating up to around 50mph it has sufficient performance, nothing more.

Yeh, but you young fellows are all used to high performance light saloon cars and hot hatches. I've been driving Land Rovers for the last 10 years and the performance of the Sport is a revelation compared to all of them except the V8 Disco I owned 1st! The Sport even makes the FFRR feel like a slug, despite similar performance figures and being heavier. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I've found the sluggishness in the 50-70 range really wore off after a few thousand miles. I'm on 12.5k now and although it's never going to be world beating it's fine for me. I sometimes wonder what its going to be like when I return to world of the sports saloon with my next car.... will I find the performance exhilarating like I did when I got my M3? At the end of the day I am one of Tim's "young fellows" I suppose and I don't feel the need to chip it... and really at 700/800 quid, it's not something I think is worth the money. Horses for courses though.... If I felt the difference maybe I'd change my mind. 2009 Outstanding Contribution Award - Joint Runner Up 2009 'Tech-Head Of The Year' Award - Runner Up Like it here? If anyone is considering a JE tune, I'm happy for them to try my car beforehand. I'm not far from JE in Coventry, so you could try mine and then go on to JE if you think the upgrade is what you want.
