2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmm, 2 weeks ago the local dealer here made me an offer for the TDv6 against their S/C that I did refuse but it was a close run thing! They offered me almost what I paid for the SE against their 3000 mile Zambesi S/C with no extras on it on a Feb 06, 55 plate.............. and they wanted another £10k dosh. Don't need the extra speed............. don't want any higher fuel bills and also likelihood of very low residuals in 2 years time. They were prepared to take <£50k for what is basically a new S/C, only their MD has driven it. It was very tempting, but I really find the Tdv6 does everything I need, economically, smoothly and quietly.
If I don't buy it I bet it goes to one of those car supermarkets or the folks that Kam sold to! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

It's a cheap SC, but like you say... who needs the fuel bills? I wonder why they can't sell it through the normal channels?

I suppose, but if you were doing the same journeys in an SC, you'd be doing £80 every 3 or 4 days... gets a bit silly then.

Exactly, WHAT fuel bills Cool As I'm not suffering with that problem Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Taking this topic back to the start. No I've not bought the S/C as hinted by me and yes RRUK I've still got the badge on the back Ner Ner

I've paid a visit yesterday to "JE Engineering" who worked their magic on my TDV6. What a fantastic difference that makes to the car. Standing start acceleration when floored is awesom, as the yanks would say. The first time took me by surprise Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
Mid range pull is fantastic. Gearbox is smoother. I've still to try it in sport mode. It was a completely different car on the M1 on the way back, shocked a few lessor wagons/cars. I've also had the air filter upgraded.

JE have done a fantastic job of getting every ounce of power out of this engine. Still got my economy and POWER by the bucket to justify the badge on the back. Not that I need to justify anything Ner Ner

This is one hell of an upgrade that I highly recommend. The guys at JE were really helpful, informative and importantly not pushy with it. Good honest advice is hard to come by these days.

My next plan is to replace the exhaust with JE's large oval S/S pipes.
