I am hoping to avoid the expense of replacing a perfectly good rear screen to get the heater working.
Any advice would be appreciated

Hello manixrr
Can you physically see the damage, or does the rear heater not work. It is a common issue that the connector behind the spoiler corrodes. O cut mine out soldered and heat shrinked.
If it is physical damage, the kits do work. Maplins also do a repairkit

Hi Shepp
I checked the connectors first and they are fine I can see the actual damage on the horizontal bars where the conductive material has been rubbed off by the previous owner
there are 3 bars working so I have quite a bit of masking up and painting with the frost fighter kit ( its dark brown the same as the original, Maplins one is silver apparently )
Still for 40 dollars it will all work again slightly better than the 993 euro for a new rear screen as recommended by two LR dealers hereIrish Range Rover Sport TDV8 2007
