Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black
Had a Drive in the Evoque yesterday......

and i would say it is a great wee car! the ride with the magna thingy is probably almost as good as air suspention, and ten times better that my mates freelander! the panoramic glass is a must , as when you close the shade back it is very dark in the back. loads of room up front and decent enough in back for 6' plus, only downside is the boot space, which is about the same floor area as a freelander but lacks the hight. the quality of the dash is pretty good and makes my 2010 rrs look so dated! i even quite like the rotating knob instead of a gearstick!

cheers

I also had a go in one last Sat at the LR event at Hungerford, quite impressed overall, had a 55min drive over a range of roads, tryed all the various gearbox modes and found the flappy padle shift very good. Don't know if the dog will be too happy in the boot though.

Cool!! Was that not a quicker delivery than expected?
My business partner is considering one , they are giving a delivery date of January. We took out a black one
Not sure if it suits darker colours, although it looks nice in Orkney
Grey.

Enjoy!

The original date was 8th September, which became 26th September for a while and then it was in Lookers compound on the 6th, delivered to me on the 9th.
There are delivery delays pending due to shortages of Bi-Xenon lights, LR has increased the price of the Panoramic roof - all the motoring press commented that is was way too cheap at £490, so LR responded by hiking it to £750, hasn't deterred many though and it is an essential extra if you buy a Coupe with a dark leather interior and headliner, the panoramic roof makes a huge difference to the interior. My interior is Black leather with contrast stitch, black headliner black leather dash and black carpets - closing the roof blind (which is also black) makes it oppressive inside the car, even more so as I have privacy too.

I'm enjoying it a lot, is is a really nippy little car and the suspension set-up is fantastic, I have never experienced a coil sprung car that rides like it had air springs, mine also has the adaptive dynamics. It rides like my TDv8 RRS did except more quietly even on it's 20" wheels. Only one slight downer - no left arm arm rest on my Recaro bucket seats that are part of the Plus pack and I've got so used to driving cars with one that it feels strange and I haven't lost the habit yet of reaching to fold down the arm rest that isn't there! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I to have driven the new Evoque. I have the privilege that my father works for them. The compound had 100's in the other week so took one for a short spin.
Generally ok but I wouldn't have one. They remind me of a Nissan Qashqai.
Thumbs Up

If the qashqui drives like an evoque , then I have obviously been wasting my money on lardrover products Whistle

To be honest I wouldnt buy one yet either, I like my 4x4s to be big and macho, and I also have to ferry kids and various junk around, my business partner is looking into getting one, but only because he does 500 miles a week.
Cheers

I've had my time with big thirsty SUV's now and need to have a car I can leave in my garage rather than on the drive. Evoque came along at the right time and Audi lost a sale of an A6 AllRoad to the Evoque. I already had a deposit down on one when I bought the FFRR from James in August last year.

A12DY B, I'm sure in 12 months time there will be plenty of them on the used market and dealer's ex demo cars - however the Pimento interior hasn't proved to be very popular so you may have a search to find one with it. Unfortunately both the brochure and LR website configurator tool made the all red interior look rather unpleasant, when in the flesh it isn't quite so garish 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Well we have had our run out in Tim's Evoque and a very pleasent run it was too. It gives a smooth ride and is quite quick too, the cockpit is full of gadjets but is uncluttered with it, it is restraind and minamalist especially when you compare it with my 2008 RRS with it's miriad of buttons and switches. One neat touch is the pool lights that shine down from the door mirrors they have a stylised drawing of the Evoque embedded in it.
Marie and I both enjoyed our run out, Thanks Tim, you have a great car there Thumbs Up Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Evoque

Had a run in a prestige yesterday. Must say a little disapointed, thought it drove ok but imho a little to much like my wifes Freelander. Interior worlds apart. One thing i must say is it aint no Range Rover

I went thinking it would be like the freelander too, but I was surprised! The 190hp engine pulled strongly and was not as harsh sounding as the freelander , if our company gets one it would be replacing a freely hse, as much as I like the freelander, the evoque is IMHO is light years ahead . I would go as far as saying the dash is way smarter than my facelifted 2010 RRS!
Cheers
