I had Hankooks on my 20" ther last 2 winters and never had a problem.

In fact in -16 degC thay saved my life.

I assume these are the Hankook Ventus ST's which are All Season
Mud & Snow rated? I've heard very good things about them and they seem
much better priced than Vredestein Wintrac 4 extremes!

Indeed so - excellent tyres and only due to the 2 blowing out on the M90 at Hogmanany I would have them on still. Went for what was available in Aberdeen, so using the tread up!! Now - MY11 RRS Autobiography TDV6, Orkney gray, tints, steps, daylight running lamps and allllll the toys!!!

I´m sorry Endjin, i didn`t want to talk rubbish. It won`t happen again!

Just gave my honnest opinion about my personal experience concerning
the performance of my RRS in the snow, which was outstanding.

I don`t want to say it, because as we all know, all RRS`s are equal,
but mine seems to be more equal than the others....:

My Conti`s DO perform well in the snow conditions i encountered.
My 20` are on a non dampened steering rack, WITHOUT any shimmy.
My 20`Conti`s are NOT wearing uneven.
And no, my RRS`s plastic parts are NOT color coded.

We'll just have to agree to differ then Thumbs Up

All I know is that with the conditions I often have to drive in during the winters in the North of Scotland, and having had a horrendous experience in my RRS with just the continental summer tyres on, I would never again risk my life or that of other road users by not having winter tyres on my car during the winter.

I couldn't agree more!!..I have since sold my Sport and now have a FFRR and took delivery of a set of new Wintracs on Friday..would never risk driving a vehicle like a RR without winter tyres again not after my experience last year on the Conti's Shocked...By the way still have a set of 19's with like brand new 255/50 Wintracs which came off my Sport if anyone is interested??

...how much? (just curiosity) Oh wow

Been running Hankook Ventus ST RH06 275/40-20 all year for the past two years - way better than the Conti that it came with.

Never had any problem going forward in snow with either Hankook or Conti, it is the stopping and cornering that is the real test. Hankook way better than Conti winter and summer. But Hankook takes to long to stop in the snow and Conti is just crap in the snow. To be honest, it is not responsible to have a 3 ton car without proper winter tyres in the winter conditions that we have had the last couple of years.

I have just bought an extra set RRS 20" with Vredestein WINTRAC 4 XTREME 275/40-20 on them for this winter, so now I will be able to stop for all the kids crossing the road.

I am really looking forward to this feature: "Design by Giugiaro - Powerful appearance due to aggressive, taut lines" - That will make all the difference Confused RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass

2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

I'm running Goodyear Wrangler F1 tyres in 275-40-20. Last year was my first experience of driving the RRS in snow, and it performed amazingly. Had no issues at all in it.

I'd be keen to experience how good the car could be with some winter tyres on it though, but with the "normal" tyres on it was no issue at all.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HST Java Black

Got some Achilles something or other on mine currently, reading the threads and doing some research I've just ordered some Hankook Ventus's, im running 22'', was considering 20's and Vreds, but chris on here is running 22 with the Kook's no issues in the snow, so going to tread ( no pun intended ) carefully as you should anyway in those conditions Laughing come the probable dumping of snow early december.

Will see how they perform, baby due Dec 6th so hoping the snow is not here when and if I need to head off to the hospital Whistle RRS S/C, Factory Fitted Full HST kit, 22" Overfinch SS, Carbon Vents & Grill .. - FOR SALE - PM me for details

I found last year my conti's were ok in normal snow, but when I started to slide down a hill with my 20s and a grand Cherokee on 18s didn't I decided it's time for the conti's to go.

I am going for cooper zeon ltz AT's for this winter - prepare for the worst possible driving conditions and hopefully the RRS won't let me down this year! MY10 HSE 3.0 TDV6 : Santorini Black : Ebony Interior w/Anigre wood : Privacy Glass (total) : Sunroof : Sidesteps : Hybrid TV : Detachable Tow Kit : Spare Wheel Cover : 22" Dished Supersports
