Erm Think I broke My Car :(

After hearing the squeak on my door getting louder and louder, i thought id better stop to investigate however the trim was hanging off ! ! So I took the car into the nearest LR garage thinking that it would just be a case of putting some new clips in. How wrong was I !!

When they had taken off the side trim they then told me that because ive had the trim colour coded they wouldn't do it under warranty. Erm... even though I said I bought the car from LR like this. I have had nothing privately colour coded. ANyway when they showed me the trim that had come off it was a mess!!!

Whoever had colour coded this obviously didn't know how to take off the trim in the first place and had broken every clip section. Then obviously tried to glue it back in place (hence the squeaking).. See the glue dripping down the door ! Any way the LR garage I took it to said that they couldn't do anything with it and kindly placed the trim in my boot ! Erm hello FIX MY CAR

I had to drive like a pikey back to my original dealer, who very kindly said that they had no idea it was like that underneath as obviously they dont check under the trim once its clipped back into place. They could not have been more helpful and apologetic. They have ordered me the new trim and will colour code it and re do the doors in needed ASAP, It should be fixed by early next week and is a priority.
In the meantime they fixed my trim back on the car, still got the squeak but its safe and secure and they washed and dried it for me in twenty minutes ! Great Service !!

EVEN THOUGH IVE TRIED TO RE SZE AND TO ROTATE SOME PICTURES WOULDNT Sad ???

I wouldn't say you've broke your car, the chimps did. For the price you pay for the car you'd expect them to do the job properly. Glad they're fixing it for you.

Yeah its not the dealers fault to be honest as they couldnt see it was broken, its the company that did the colour coding. So they are in for a Censored ing and my dealer will deliver it lol !!! Smile

What's happened to the wiper? Or is it just a typical LR and broke for the sake of it?

I had that with the wiper when it was frozen stuck and just pulled it up a little till back in line and has been ok since that was last winter.

And I thought mine was bad Shocked
I just despair at the quality of work that is being carried out, we have bred a generation of workers who just have no personal pride or integrity and just do the absolute bare minimum they can get away with.
I used to have an amazing customer in a hospital in Nottingham,on his white board in the workshop he had this in large letters:
"That'll do won't do" wish a few more managers would have the same philosophy, mine went in this week for remedial work and came out with parts replaced which weren't any better than the ones they took off, seemingly LR don't do incoming QC on their parts from suppliers so a tolerance of +/- 30% on the width of a rubber strip is normal and they can't ensure that the colour of a glove box lid doesn't match the surrounding trim Rolling Eyes MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.
