Mine is going in next week for exploratory steering vibration surgery. The dealer has got a sizeable list of checks to do from LR which will take two days to complete. Hoping on an SC loan car, but will settle for a V8 Razz

Stay tuned!

Cheers

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

You see, this is where the internet really comes into its own.

I just wish the dealers would get their heads together, and perhaps even use one of these new-fangled "FORUM" thingys (?!), then LR/Ford would save themselves a small fortune in avoiding the same repeat warranty work which is being proven not to solve the problems reported!?!?! No wonder their finances are in a mess and their credit is rated as junk..! WISE UP HENRY!!

You'd think that a couple of savvy engineers at LR would be all over this website, note that loads of owners have the same problems, and stop new steering racks/ suspension/ struts etc being sent out willy-nilly to dealers to happily charge back their workshop time..? it seems like a perfect waste of effort & money to me, and in the process their loyal customers are being sent back & forth with misplaced promise that their cars are being fixed.. how long does false hope last??

I'm happy to say thanks to my family background I'm fiercely loyal to this brand, otherwise I'd be tootling around in an ML by now.

Rant over.

I just want a car that ........

Doesn't squeak or rattle
Doesn't have steering foibles
Doesn't lose bits of exterior trim
Has alloys that dont need to wear protective clothes
and electrics that can go a week without beeping

Oh ..... and I nearly forgott.... a hydraulic suspension pump that works

See ..... not much to ask Rolling Eyes

I agree MDP, especially at the price you pay for a RRS! My mum's Hyundai Accent has less vibrations through the steering Crying or Very sad

I'd imagine that LR has a whizz bang database that is capturing all of the worldwide probs with RRS via their dealerships, so I am not sure that tuning into forums would add too much to their knowledge of the issues....I think it's more a benefit to us, the owners, to confirm we are not going completetly mad when we discover (pardon the pun) a problem and are told it's a feature of the RRS....call it therapy! I know for a fact that they DO read this forum and others about the their cars. They also have special web software which constantly scans the internet for any mention of Landrover, Range Rover etc.

I reckon they DO take notice but most of the time, decisions to change a part or alter a manufacturing process come down to money.

I recall back in August last year before I had my car and the general concensus of opinion was that we were guineau pigs for this car, and so far we have helped LR identify and iron out some of the issues they have had with it, making it a much better car.

In return I think we should all get some freebies! Laughing L319 D4 HSE
