He should be finished Stage 1 soon, will sort some out if I'm allowed.
Got a bit of a problem as seemingly it may have been re-painted at some stage and there are some dirt particles under the new paint Big Cry
Has anyone got any figures on what the factory paint thickness should be? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

A detailer won't be able to fill chips using polishing etc as there's nothing to polish! I asked the same question of the chap I use (Paul from Shine On detailing.. Very good) recently and he said the only solution was to re-paint! Thinking he was being a little bit too OCD about the whole thing, I thought I would call 'chips away' as their company name seemed to offer the perfect solution...

How wrong could I be? A pleasant chap who owns the local chips away franchise called me back soon after I left a message via his website and when I explained the type of problems I needed rectifying (stone chips and a chip on the o/s door) he said "oh no, we only do dents and scratches". I was a bit surprised and asked why the company was called chips away when they didn't repair chips.. He said "I don't know... A lot of customers say that" Amazing!!!

Not what you want ed to hear but I hope it helps...

I tried chips away..................ABSOLUTELY USELESS!!

I had a stone chip in bonnet and a tiny dent in door......

Their reply, if the chip was 10cm further up it would be no problem, if the dent was 5cm lower no problem, but where they are, we cant do anything!

Brilliant, next time I'll make sure the stones hit the right spot Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Ady,
Apparently there are "silicons" like small grains of sand trapped in between the paint layers so it's not looking good.
I've notified the potential issue to my leasing company just in case and once I've got the detailers report they will investigate for me.

Just noticed that,it was raised to polish the exhausts which were rusty on delivery.
Will leave it up to Lex Leasing to decide what to do once they have the report. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

And the only slight downside he wasn't able to completely eliminate the horrendous scoring here but hopefully I may be able to replace that???

Fantastic result there chris, i'd be tempted to get some chrome exhaust tips, Thumbs Up what are your thoughts on the result, would you recommend the company that did the job?
