URGENT - AA concerned about towing

Car being recovered to Lookers for a new starter motor.. AA concerned about towing the RRS ~25 metres out of the car park it's in. If it's in neutral I assume this couldn't damage anything? Can anyone provide the actual answer? Currently waiting for another patrol to come and confirm whether or not it can be recovered!

The actual recovery vehicle is a low loader so not concerned about the journey to Lookers - this is just the act of getting it onto the back of the lorry! Seems a bit overkill

AFAIK should be fine in N, certainly done that to mine a couple of times. DO NOT let them use a spec lift and raise one set of wheels. Plus make AA dude a cup and check what your manual says. Thumbs Up

All sorted - trying to steer without power steering is nigh on impossible. Hope I never experience a failure while on the move - totally understand why people are so angry when it happens to them. Must be terrifying.

Happened to me on way up to Shap summit on the M6. Complete shut down of everything, engine, power steering, suspension dropped & about half a dozen other warnings. Luckily quiet & got to hard shoulder no problems. It's all part of the fun & frolics that is running LRs! Rolling Eyes

the AA have these things called skates that they put on all four wheels and this allows them to slide it across and up the back of there lorry with a winch

no movement of wheels at all when they done mine

then raised lorry back and slowly slid off on skates

they know how to do it but u must tell the AA ITS AUTO

Thumbs Up

All sorted..

How was this sorted?
According to my information, if there is electrical power, the RRS can be be towed (4-wheel towing), provided:

1. Ignition switch turned to "II";
2. Gear selector lever in "N" position;
3. Transfer case is in "H", HIGH position;
4. Parking brake released.

Caution: The vehicle may be towed for a maximum of 3 hours or 90 miles (150 km) at a maximum speed of
30 mph (50 km/h), these limits MUST NOT be exceeded.
