Rear seat inferior lights?

This one may seem a bit trivial, but the rear interior lights on my car, which with a black interior are all but pathetic in their attempt to illuminate any situation. Are the years catching up with me and my eyes.......or are there cost saving elements afoot.......better still has anybody increased their bulb wattage to compensate?

You won't catch me in the back of a car anymore, not at my age! Tales to tell in my younger years tho...

I only ever sit in the front so never noticed. I have ebony leather so will check it out this evening. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

The rear lights are of a poor specification I feel, especially when you have privacy glass and an Ebony interior.

The lights in the headlining do not automatically illuminate when the doors are opened, however the doors have a light at the floor level which do come on.

I find it impossible to see anything in the back of my car at night. It's not just you! L319 D4 HSE

....have to disagree ! Have mine (with the ivory) for two months now and the leather still looks like new. Bear in mind however that if you like to wear blue or blackish jeans, or even worse, dark coloured leather trousers (..the kind ladyboys and pimps used to like to wear) you'll get color stains with time.

and BTW I have no problems with the interior being too dark. Didn't order the car with the privacy glass, which in my book is much too dark for my silver RRS, but did a lighter but still dark enough aftermarket tinting for lesser money, and the car looks gorgeous. It's a very nice match and there is much less contrast, it looks dark enough from the outside but you can still see the greenish tint of the front glass. SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

Roland, maybe it's a swiss thing...wearing Ivory leather trousers.

I had my privacy glass done a shade or 2 lighter than factory fit (Mrs S dictated, not my choice) but in UK, tints on front side windows is illegal (Any more than 23% block out) so only had rear 5 windows done. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Supertrotter,

..law's the same here in Switzerland so I didn't have the front sides done.

I am sure you must agree your wife was right, as they always are. Isn't there much less contrast between front side and rear windows now than with a factory fit. IMHO it's nicer and less vanlike.

...as for the ivory leather trousers Twisted Evil no need for comments SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

I'm not sure. I quite like the contrast even on lighter colours.

I tried to persuade Mrs S that we need a dark tint for Cyprus (Penatgon use metallic lined UV reflective film, cools interior). Dependent upon the law in Cyprus, we may get a tint on the front side windows.

Guess I'm a pimp at heart.
