2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zermatt Silver
Tales of woe and joy

Afternoon all...

Im in somewhat of a quandry. Since collection of the RRS, the following has occured

1) Alternator blew - alternator and battery replaced FOC
2) Dead pixel in 1 rear DVD screen - Screen replaced FOC
3) 1 Heating element in rear screen broken - Screen replaced and tinted FOC
4) Squeaking brakes - cause apparently rear breaks and due to being on electric handbrake too long. Rear disks replaced FOC
5) Usual front wiper problem, and wipers replaced FOC

Now the quandry is that the dealer has, IMHO, acted admirably and impeccably to rectify all these issues and not charge me a penny. But you have to wonder how these things were missed on the 'pre-delivery inspection'.

So, while there is no out of pocket expense, and actually I would argue that I am in a better position than I would have been otherwise, it does make you wonder how many people may not have noticed faults which in time may have ended costing them money?

Oh, and I have found the best remedy for the high MPG i get in london - bought a 50cc vespa for the small journeys. Love it!

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Bermy, the EPB problem is one I know well from my TDv6, it was a pain in the butt and sometimes it stuck on at traffic lights and I had to really welly it away to unbind them, and then suffer howling brakes for the next 5 minutes! The system is a right pain in the a*rse and I would be interested to know if Jaguars that have a similar system have similar aggro with it. Strangely I have not suffered (yet......................) the same problem with my 2008MY TDv8.

With such a new car I would expect the dealer to replace the rest FOC, as you say those items should have been picked up at PDI. The wiper problem is well know on these forums and there is now a redesigned blade available from LR. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
