Hi there,

I have one and it is crazy fast, especially if you leave the gearbox in sport mode. However, I drive in sport mode rarely... only if I am in zone 3-4 in London. MPG is horrible, if you get stuck in 5-6pm traffic it can go down to 9mpg... In normal conditions it is about 12.3MPG. But if one buys supercharged, he should keep MPG reading off the screen! I used to watch it out of curiosity, but not anymore. I know more or less what MPG I get, I even know how it varies with my driving style now.

Also, on paper RRS does 0-60 in 5.9 sec. In real life it is even faster. I know someone who did it in 5.1 sec. I personally tried once, but it was rainy, I achieved 5.6 sec... Vadim A.

According to LR sources, the 5.0 S/C comes off the production line at 600bhp and is hauled back to 510 for the RR/RRS/Jags. They have kept something back for something a little special perhaps? Wink L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

600bhp! V E R Y Nice! As Borat says: "I like!"
Top gear, when presenting new RRS explained that the new RR has so much power, that LR had to limit the speed to 145mph otherwise the tires would burst. I wonder if bhp reduction is connected to this in any way? or is it really for something to come in the future... unlikely. 600bhp is quite an achievement and any company would be happy to share it with customers, let's not forget the competition with other 4x4's... (which are nowwhere close of course!!!! Twisted Evil Vadim A.

Everything has to be toned down to balance durability. Remember that our engines need to opperate in the desert or Artic Circle at 45deg angles from stock, as well as the 0-60 sprint or cruising from London to Montecarlo 4-up!

I know someone who competes in something called Time Attacks and has a Mitsubishi Evo10 with over 800bhp..... The trouble is that he only manages to compete in 1/3 events due to failures as the engine is so highly strung.

That said, the Jaguar XKR75 had more bite and the new XK-RS means it's potentially possible to get more power. Personally the 5.0 amazes me every time I drive one!

James Thumbs Up

Mis, TBH the RRS impresses me more, however I think it's more to do with the Hot Hatch feel when in Adaptive Dynamics Mode.... it turns it into a real animal!

Big DJ, If you know EVO's you'll know the one I mean.... green and shortened! Just noticed that I said it's a X when it's an IX and it's BHP has gone up.

Power: 950bhp & 700lb-ft with 9250rpm rev limit
Weight 1180Kg (Dry)
Top speed: 215mph + (201.43mph so far )
Best 0-60mph = 2.4 sec
Best 0-100mph = 4.3 sec
Best 0-150mph = 8.00 sec

I think the 0-100 is the most impressive figure (oh, and the BHP, and breaking 200mph)!!

James Thumbs Up
