TDV6 -> TDV8 engine?

Right, I know it may be a silly question, but anyone ever considered swapping a TDV6 engine to a TDV8?

Would I need to swap gearbox as well, or would the engine alone "do the trick"?

Don't really want to get rid of the car and buy another one, but after 130k miles (apart from the EGR valves) trouble free miles, well...

Oh, allright, I admit: the HP-craziness is getting the better of me, and I want it to be faster.

get yours re-mapped Gone,,TDV8 arctic frost,black leather,colour coded handles,rear entertainment,sunroof.
1980 Rolls Royce,shadow 2 in white.
Gone 07/57 TDV8 santorino,black leather.chrome handle's/mirror's.
Gone 02/52 FFRR vogue.
