Split in front seat squab

I have a 2008 RRS with 3-4 months to run on the warranty, my question is would the split which is about 30 mm in length on the drivers seat squab be covered by warranty? The car has only covered 26,000 miles and is in perfect condition.

Interested in your comments, (before anybody asks I am not the incredible hulk)

Thanks

I believe it will be. I bet the split is on the side just above the seat controls?

Hi BIG DJ

You are correct the split is verticle just above the seat control. Did you have the same problem and did they repair under warranty?

Mine is wearing there but not split yet. I believe it's quite a common thing.

Ive had mine just over a year. I didn't notice the seat when I bought the car but did a couple of months later. They wouldn't replace mine as it wasn't under manufacturer warranty, it was on LR extended warranty.

BIG DJ, i would be surprised if you get it changed.

I wrote to LR UK head office and complained about my FFRR which had several trim problems (split in seat, worn arm rest, peeling trim and so on) but they dismissed me completely. They basically said that since the problems could have been caused rather than happen as a result of poor materials then they weren't required to act on my complaint.

Trim is very difficult to claim for. Good luck.

Got all 7 seats replace on my 06 D3 HSE after the new seat covers leaked dye and permanently stained the alpaca leather seats. This was when the car was 3 weeks old! They had a choice, replace the seats or I'd reject the car, recovering was not an option! They chose replacing the seats. That's why the early black D3 seat covers were suddenly withdrawn and new sand coloured covers sold instead. Whistle
