Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Good News Range Rover Sport Drivers

As I predicted prices are up in this months guides across the board by as much as £1000 on certain models Thumbs Up Gotta love mother nature. Laughing

Supercharged up by around £625
TDV6's up by around £625
TDV8's up by around £975

Considering the average monthly drop on a RRS is between -£400 and -£600 its nice to be on the other side of the fence for a change Mr. Green

The prices are only affective from 6 days ago Laughing not all cars have increased in value either, and the snow is far from gone. I think Feb will be a good month again.... either was your cars worth more than it was last month which cant be a bad thing Thumbs Up

I can't get hold of stock for love nor money and am paying over 'book' for the right vehicles. There are less deals on new which is pushing everything up.

James,
Where are Stratstones getting all theirs from, they've got shedloads just come into stock??
I'm desperate for a new one but can't bear the thought of giving them a penny of my hard earned.
Last thing I need is a price increase at the moment all the ones I've found are already just out of reach Sad
My business partner went to a BMW auction in Nottingham yesterday to buy an 09 635D and it went for £4K above what he was expecting to get it for so he's peeved too. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

Most of ours are pre-sold before they reach the forecourt so do not get marketed. We have pre-sold two part-exchanges today (subject to viewing of course), but I can't buy enough V's the demand.

If a dealer has 'shedloads' then it sounds like they may be too expensive for the market. To be fair, I could generate 20 used cars in as many seconds on-line however they wouldn't necessarily be the sort of thing that we would like to sell or indeed be at a price that we could turn them quickly.

Chris, if Stratstone have something and it fits the bill (and is a nice car) then go for it as I can only see a repeat of this time last year where values went silly.

We know exactly what you are after, therefore I'll PM the moment we get anything suitable. If any of the requirements change (2.7 or TDV6 / Older etc etc) then let me know.

Hi James,
Thanks for that,I can wait until March if I need to so won't be playing the current inflated prices some are asking.
The interesting thing is all the ones that fit the bill but just out of my reach aren't selling and have been available for nearly a month presumably in the hope that eventually someone desperate will stump up.
If they do go up a grand this month then I'm even worse off Sad MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

If they are hanging around then they are too expensive V's the market. Either Glass's Guide will be right and values will go up (menaning that the expensive ones you have seen with then be priced right). If on the other hand the retail prices don't suddenly jump up (as dealers appreciate that the VAT increase has put a strain on everyones finances), then you may find that the the out of reach cars are reduced to sell.

Most dealer groups have a stocking policy, where when a vehicle reaches a certain number of days in stock then it has to be liquidated to free up working capital. Depending on which dealer this could be somewhere between 45 to 90 days in stock. So, if a dealer has a policy of 60 days and it has not sold by 45 days then they need to make sure that it is cheaper than anything else on the market.

Most of the time dealers will only add cars on to the internet if they are not sold before they arrive. Dealers will also only usually remove cars when they customers physically drive the sold car away. This could mean that you are seeing the same cars on-line for long periods of time when in fact they are sold. Best bet is to give your requirements to as many dealers as possible and wait for the keen Sales Execs to call you every time they do a deal where a suitable car is due to come in.

James, what in your wisdom is the right kind of RRS ? I realise FSH, low miles etc but what about actual model & spec?

Obviously the TDV8 is a winner but is the 4.2 S/C still as desirable and do things like First Edition, HST (factory or kit) make significant difference?

Carlos,

It's a tricky one to answer, however in general I would be more interested in (and pay stronger money for) the following profile:

2.7 (with 20" wheels) or TDV8
Ideally HST or HSE
First colour choice black, then grey, then silver
First interior colour ebony then ivory (not with aspen topper though!)
Factory privacy glass is good
Must have a full service history with LR and prefarably serviced within the last 6 months
Ideally have covered less than 1,000 miles per month of it's life
If HST then it could do with factory DVD
No non-approved modifications

Hope this helps?
