Damn i love my RRS in the winter

I'm just back from a break in NYC and landed early tues morning to nightmare traffic conditions in central Scotland or as it has been commonly known.... The north pole.

My RRS has been brilliant whilst cars, some 4x4's, trucks and vans were stranded on the M8 & M74 overnight in -25 temp and 4ft of snow in some places, I powered right up the outside lane and hard shoulder where possible in my Supercharger and i didnt so much as loose traction once in the 25 mile trip.

Passed another RRS (TDV6) driver and we shared a brief smile and thumbs up to eachother Thumbs Up Wish i could find a jet wash thats open however as all this salt on the roads has left it rather dirty Laughing Laughing

I agree there is not many if any other 4x4 that can keep up with this brand in the snow. It is definitely 1 thing they have got right.
We briefly purchased a new X5 4.8 petrol last winter and it was as much use as a rear wheel drive car hence why it went straight away to replace it for another rrs s/c

Keep up the good work

I know everyone in England and Scotland is having dreadful weather and we got our own taste of it last night! Worst weather here in 25 years apparently. Had to go "rescue" my mother in her wee 207cc. When I got on the road-carnage! Cars abandoned everywhere in all directions. My wee RRS never missed a beat! Actually surprised at how sure-footed it was! Just needed a rope to rescue a few people so felt bad about that. Passed a few other RRS and FFRR's and exchanged a thumbs up as we hurtled on in the ridiculous weather.

Even though the RRS/D3 has the best terrain management about I had to cry when I saw a woman in her D3 abandon her car at the bottom of a hill and cause huge problems with the traffic behind her. If you get a RRS/D3 the very least you should do is learn how to drive the thing, other normal front & back wheel drive cars had no problems on the incline apart from trying to get past the abandoned D3! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.
