There are a few stock vehicles around and a few 11my coming through. The only issue is that if a customer wants a specific specification that isn't available then amending an existing order would probably push out to January now.

James you may remember me asking you for a price a few weeks back and i had a good deal with my current supplier as i was an existing customer. However they told me i could expect delivery at the latest 30th september (q3) as they wanted it on there figures for september. The dealer rang me almost a month after ordering to ask what colour wood we wanted with the ivory trim. I got the impression he was only just ordering it then! Anyway our delivery date has been put back and the date i have been told it is coming off the production line is the 15th of october and then we have to wait up to 10 days for delivery to the dealer and a further 2-3 days for the colour coding etc we have ordered. The situation is i could be waiting until the end of october for the new car almost a month later than promised. My question is should i try for a better deal getting it in Q4 rather than Q3 and also for being messed about a bit? It's a shame that expectations have not been met. We often miss out on a deals where brokers/dealers promise the earth.

It sounds like you have reasonable grounds to cancel, however in doing so you would then be starting from scratch with a factory order which could be January if ordered to a specific spec.

Speak to the Sales Manager, and if he's reasonable he'll offer you something to keep you happy for a few weeks. It all depends on what the order form suggested.
