Battery or is it a Major problem and time to get rid ?

In the last two days the vehicle has displayed in the message centre " Suspension Fault, Normal Ride Height only" plus the amber warning light, and today it has now added to the list "Special Programmes not available" and no lights are on in the TR console, not even the standard on-road is lit up Crying or Very sad Thank god for extended warranties

Hoping for it being a duff battery at the moment until i can get it checked out, but assumes at 4.25 years old it is now showing its age and maybe time to trade it..

Anyone had a similar "collective" of symptoms on their sport Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Yep, I had pretty much the same a couple of years ago on my 2006 TDV6. If I remember right it turned out to be one of the heavy duty fuses (50 Amp?) associated with the air suspension. I can't remmeber though whether this fuse was under the glovebox or if it was one of the ones in the rear boot area. Worth checking all the fuses for sure before anything else. Good luck Neutral 2010 TDV6 SE Nara Bronze

Zilch, is it still the original battery? If so then it may be time to get a new battery or get the alternator checked that it is charging. thanks for all the tips

i checked the 5 amp F3 and 20 amp f26 fuses under the bonnet and they both seemed fine, the TR system seems to be its happy self, a good nights sleep no doubt Rolling Eyes

The air compressor did come on shortly (its got noisier of late) before the error popped up..so assume its the worst. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

As per other note, the compressor had failed, the specialists could not get hold of LR original parts, Allianz are approving new after market compressors... 3 Sports this week referred to the LR Specialist, 1 pushed back to LR dealership, the poor sod as a 10 day wait as it is under LR manufacturer warranty and needs genuine LR parts, i suspect they will fail before the after market ones based on the build quality i have experienced with LR Whistle

Way to go LR, thanks for the 4 years of pure bliss Evil or Very Mad Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

BK it averages about 4 - 5 off roads a year, nothing taxing or hard..some no more than your Vineyard runs Wink and with the same attention to detail from kittens in terms of cleaning after the event

it has had since new:

New Steering rack
Brake Servo contamination / servo failure
Brake recall and modification
Recovered due to sensor failure after Engine Management upgrade
New transfer box
New Control arm bushes and ball joints
New Front Diff
New Air Compressor
New Wiring loom and New Radio - Rolling with laughter never found the problem
it can go on and on, but will keep it to the big ticket items,

the list is a bit longer than you think Laughing

EDIT: REMOVED DISPARING REMARKS Whistle

PS BKHK, your right, time to throw off the yoke, go with the local flow and order a Toyo or a Nissan Rolling with laughter Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Yep, it looks like its had a few parts over its lifetime, fair point.

If you want to change, maybe get a 2 year old with some warranty left? or, why not go a cheaper FFRR, look at that bloke that went from the UK to South Africa in a standard TD6....impressive.

Tojo and Nissan are ugly.....

Mine only goes between home, other home and the car wash!! (very occasional vinyard) So far so good in 20k klm, running better than ever, gleaming, still smells new. I am very happy with this one....starting to itch for an MY10 but SWMBO would go ballistic if I spent any more $ before I have had this one for the 3 years I promised her (similar to Angel's promise!). It will be reliability and warranty which decide whether I change at 3 or maybe take a risk and go 5 years Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

Would go new again if i got another, but will wait for the bugs to be ironed out on the MY10, maybe a MY12, as for a FFRR, not quite ready for the pipe and slippers Wink

As for a Toyo, i was so p155ed off Sunday night after nursing it back from QLD for 23 hours, that i checked out the prices on a new Prado, the Kakadu which is basically same spec as the Sport, is the same price on the road as a 3.0 V6 sport Shocked

It will stay for now.. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

But imagine having to look at a Prado every day.....it isn't a good looking vehicle and doesn't drive as nicely as the RRS, it's much more truck like on the road. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
