Id have driven it back and parked it blocking their entrance if a BRAND new cars radio and sat nav stopped working on the same day i bought it and they refused to even look at it for 10 days. Having an issue is one thing which shouldn't happen but its bound to here and there and technically not the dealers fault on a new car but for them to not want it back in asap is ridiculous.

My 2010 RRS HSE LUX Sport with every option had the Supplemental Restraint System (Airbag) wire loom under the passenger seat misrouted over the seat track. The car wash moved the seat back and crushed the whole wire loom and after a whopping 38 miles on the car the dealer immediately took it back and order me an identical car. Currently I am driving around in the Supercharged Loaner until my new one arrives, they are paying my loan until the I am back in a new car and the GM said he would take me shopping in the Land Rover store for some aftermarket goodies.

I'm afraid the response you received from the dealer is typical - they view such faults as not being their problem but Land Rover's problem. They refuse to go the extra mile for the car they sold you but happily pocket the sales comission. I had a similar problem with a post delivery fault and now go to another dealer for the warranty work - MY10 TDV8 due back for it's 3rd workshop visit at the end of this month. The new dealer is 100 times more helpful even though they didn't sell me the car - they actually seem to care about the brand (and realise, unlike the idiots I bought the car from that their success is linked to Land Rover's).

That has been a known problem on a number of units in OZ, mine included, how the hell after 3 plus years can they still not route and secure a major piece of cabling through the cabin.. is'nt that something a spotty apprentice would be taught in their first few months... Buddy, you seem to mention the happy owner thread very often. I tried to look for it, but did not succeed. Could you post a link to that thread please? Thanks. Vadim A. |
