My wife went through a divorce recently here in Belgium, first they both went to a solicitor and drew up an agreement of 50/50 and a little maintanence for the 2 kids still at home. But on the day of signing my wife's ex took a advocat on the advice of his brothers and he submitted a counter offer of €10k and €50 per kid per month. From that it got nasty and as there has to be a guilty party they both had to prove the other guilty, after a few years and many court appearencies there was a change in the law so a non fault settlement could be made. It cost my wife €25k in advocat fees just to end up back at the same settlement that was drawen up at the solicitors all those years ago. The wife's ex looks at it as a win because that was €50k he didn't have to pay to his wife and kids. My wife is still traumatised by the affair. The wife's older kids were great through the whole divorce in their support for her. That all made my divorce seem so easy. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh Clan Cameron |
