Split turbo hose and oil seepage

Hi All,
After suffering low power, much smoke and an engine fault warning, I decided to go old school and open the bonnet for a look. There was a 3cm split at the top of the large turbo hose between the intercooler and throttle body. I pulled this off for a temporary repair (as I couldn't get into a dealer for a week!) and found quite a bit of oil seepage from the split as well as at the bottom of the hose. Is this normal? I would of thought clean air goes through here or is this something to do with the egr? It is just under warranty so I want to make sure nothing is missed...
thanks,
