2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange
Cleaning/detailing

As, hopefully, we get some better weather, it will be time to give the beast a deep clean, I usually use meguiars products and start with snow foam, then a qaulity shampoo, clay bar, polish and finish with a wax.
Any suggestions about different products and/or methods of cleaning. 2005 Vesuvius 1st edition ( now sadly gone ).

method sound good enough, though 2 buckets help keeps swirls away

I have a range of Gloss-it polishes to use with a Dual Action polishers and i'm waiting on the better weather to crack on with them for a couple of days.

I have just bought some Dodo Juice Lime Prime which is a paint cleaner with a little bit of bite to take swirls out, can be used by either DA or hand, Then i'll top off with a couple of coats Dodo Juice Supernatural wax

The dodo juice stuff is worth a look at, various waxes to suit different cars, and colours

also going to look in to some nanolex window sealant, and their alloy wheel sealant nano technology that sheets water off the windows and the wheels to prevent breakdust build up and aid cleaning

I have been looking at the dodo stuff, so would the lime prime act as a polish before waxing the car, or can I use the meguiars polish and then just finish with a coat, or two, of dodo wax. 2005 Vesuvius 1st edition ( now sadly gone ).

i would be using it as a polish, as it sets the car up to put a layer of wax on, helping the wax last longer from what i have read on it and takes out slight swirls.

You can also get Lime Prime Lite, which has no abrasives and it just a pre wax cleaner and will not take any swirls out.

Bear in mind that both LP & LPL will remove any fillers that a polish has left behind, I'm not sure what megs polishes have in the way of fillers, (but things like Auto Glym Super Resin polish has them in)

I use autoglym glass polish inside and out, always gives a nice finish, and very easy to use. 2005 Vesuvius 1st edition ( now sadly gone ).

The advice I was given is that after using lime prime you should seal the paintwork then apply a wax,
this was by a company called elite car care, good web site with a huge range of cleaning products,
also good for advice on products and how to get the best from them.
