Had my G4 'detailed' yesterday, pretty convinced it's never been polished in its life.

Yeah, Matt's doing a full report of it. Have to say he's done an immense job, I'm really impressed with the result and the scratch removals he's managed to do. Even after a 200 mile journey to work through the wet salty roads it still looks great. |

When using clay, they say you need to use a lubricant (yes I'm talking about car waxing still!) can someone tells me the method used when using clay and lubricant - the lower parts of the doors are slightly rough....want that glass finish.....can you do the whole car in one go or can you do door by door - and can you use it by hand or is a machine better??? |

NickM - you have to use a spray lubricant with the clay bar and you can buy it as a kit with the clay or separately.

Elite car care sell a clay bar that you can use water as a lubricant, really easy as you can keep the hose in one hand and clay bar in other, also means there's no oily lube to wash of afterwards.

why oh why oh why don't more people use this stuff??? Megu stuff was sold out so I got Auto Glym kit instead - and it is AMAZING!!! I was about to pay a company £400 to detail my car, but I can get it to how I want myself - ok I won't machine it, but the 2 panels I did in half hour, are silky glass smooth - and it looks wonderful!!!
