air suspension (bobby?)

do you have a schematic of where the compressors sit, how the pipework runs to each air spring, how each corner air spring is connected to the overall system etc etc

are there any vulnerabilities e.g. when driving off road - exposed pipework etc?

Only vulnerable part is the plastic compressor cover - you can get a guard though. If the off-roading is serious, you might want to spray some plast-kote over the sensors and other electrical bits that hang under the car. On pre 2010 versions, the transmission ecu that is behind the battery box on the passenger side can take in water and plasti-kote or similar will help there too.

HAve you looked in Bobby's gallery for the drawing you want?

If you are visiting a tyre shop make sure that they know how to jack the car up properly - one of the local tyre centres managed to destroy several D3 suspension compressors by putting the trolley jack pad in the wrong place.
The place I use are well aware of the situation as they too had a compressor "incident" fortunately for me it wasn't my car! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
