no. The multi car policy is designed for families where there is 2 or more cars. Each car's policy is specific to the main driver so you still maintain and earn your no claims bonus. The only difference to separate policies is the discount Admiral give you. Also, the renewal date is also on the same anniversary. So, by taking the policy in my daughter's name from 10 May, this is the date of our family multi car policy. My wife's renewal in 20 June. This comes into the block policy on 20 June, but will then renew on 10 May 2011. My RRS is 10 October. I only pay the pro-rata premuim from Oct to May 2011 and then the annual amount thereafter. The important think is all cars are still independent to each drive - so my girl's clio and insurnace poicy is specific to her, but me and the wife are names drivers on her policy.

Put my 17 year old into a 1.0L Corsa Ins Grp 1 last October. Insurance for him as main driver was a shocker. Mainstream underwriters did not go below 3 grand. Direct line best was £2.5K.
Eventually went with a company called iKube. They put a tracker in the car and you cannot drive the car between 11pm and 5 am. Cut a fully comp premium down to £1.6K - phew!
If junior does drive between the hours of 11pm and 5am he gets a £45 bill for doing so.

Jeep 4.0 High Output XJ 94 6" teraflex lift, c/w rear coils, 9500lb winch, 35" TSL super swamper boggers, safari snorkel, custom made bumpers, tom woods custom double cardon driveshaft, twin electric fans. Don't follow it..............you wont make it. The first 4 x 4 by far.

I experimented with a few other cars - Ford Ka, Peugeot 106, Micra, Polo etc. As long as they were Gp 1 or Gp 2 did not appear to affect the premium. Went with the Corsa as I could get ABS and Airbags quite easily.

The vagueries of insurance.
