17"s look fine (that's what the base models come with as standard) higher profile tyres help to fill the arches. Plenty of pictures over in the Disco3 gallery

We have a different engine map over here according to my dealer which enables a higher top speed. I hope you are not one of these chaps living on the continent that comes over for a "burn up". Watch out for tailgating and swerving around flashing your lights behind slower drivers, the police have lots of vas cars and if you have foreign plates on they will pull you over and give you an on the spot fine or an instant ban from driving in Germany! (by the way, they carry credit car machines too so there is no "I havent got that amount of money on me!) |

Canaryman Actually I am living right at the German/Swiss border near Singen and Lake of Constance and am quite familiar with the situtation on your Autobahn... used to own a 911 Porsche when I was really young and yes, we used to go to your country for some "burn ups". BTW good ole JC of Top Gear fame does the same It's unfortunate that between here and Stuttgart there is now a speed limit and one has to drive further up north in order to find out about a car's top speed! Its dodgey nowadays. I was fined for being 45m behind a car when I should have been 83m (I was in a CLK doing about 150mph). They also use helicopters and send you the ban through the post!

Jesus, if you're not prepared for it, 30mph on a wet roundabout in a TVR can also induce the same pants-browning experience. The Sagaris is supposedly more driveable though...

I have have run both a TVR280........ mild and for a frightenly short time (that is a short while that scared the living daylights out of me!) a TVR450SEAC. In the latter you didn't even need the wet round about it would donut with very great ease on an ordinary road, in front of other traffic without any provocation! There is nothing more fun than a TVR..................... if you are brave enough, which I wasn't. I had only ever had front wheel drive hot hatches and sensible cars when I changed from a slightly wayward Rover Coupe Turbo to the 280, which I could cope with. The 450 was a totally different story and was best described as a poorly built, unreliable monster, and while I managed not to put it through a wall backwards it was not really suitable for use as a daily driver and I sold it after 6 months. Also when I had mine the nearest dealer /service agent was a 350 mile round trip away........ in Barrow in Furness. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I'm much happier these days with 2.5t of 4x4 that has well sorted suspension and pretty good build quality (but then any build quality is better than TVR's, possibly excepting a Reliant Robin!). And compared to my TVR's all the LR's I have owned have been the paragons of reliablity! Only 2 calls to LR Assist in 6 years! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Apparently since TVR are now under new ownership, the reliability has meant to have increased no end... I guess that remains to be seen but from what I was reading, the Sagaris (which I think is the only car to have come to market wholly under the new management) is behaving itself in general.
