Issy

Thought it was just mine that was bad. Set the MPG about 800 miles ago and have averaged 24 mostly motorway crusing and a bit of town driving. Bought the car with 33k on the clock and have discovered that it spent all this time doing short runs to school and back in chelsea. Since giving it a good thrashing the MPG is steadily improving. Plan to give it a good flush and change the oil next week then get it chipped, hoping this will put it right and get me closer to the average 28 I should be getting. He Who Dies With The Most Toys Wins

Had my MY06 2.7TDV6 chipped and vast improvement on performance and slightly better mpg, but think i was doing 23mpg average before anyway. Did make the car come alive and remove that flat spot that made pulling out a death defying stunt purple people eater

From what I can tell there seems to be a massive difference in MPG reported by owners on here, anything from 21 to 36 average. I cant believe that difference is down poor callibration of the on board computor so the only cause can be poor combustion due to engine contamination. This is typical on modern diesel engines, especially those that have not been run in properly or used regularly on short stop start trips. I've only had the car a couple of weeks but I'm already starting to see an improvement since putting a diesel treatment through it and giving it a spirited drive.

I'm going to have to be a bit careful here or I might get into trouble with the admin guys. I run a company that manufactures engine flush and fuel treatments. I am in no way trying to promote my particular brand however I cant overstate how much of an impact dirty injectors can have on fuel consumption. When you do get it flushed out make sure whoever does it uses a propriatory brand because there are good flushes and there are bad ones, and some of the bad ones are just solvent in a can that do more harm than good. He Who Dies With The Most Toys Wins

Re getting it chipped theres a guy that sponsers this site called Nick Heyes who runs Turbochip, I put a call into him last week and seems like a decent chap. He will come out to you and sort it whilst its on your drive. I'm still waiting for a date and time off him but he's apparently very good. He Who Dies With The Most Toys Wins

I have have a 57 plate tdv6 and around town i get 24-26 and on a motoway it climbs to around 33-35, both in normal auto not sport, i think you need to get it checked
Just a quick question, i notice you have 22" wheels they are having some effect on the computer reading/ calabration

Yeah I'm running 22" on mine but I cant imagine its making that much difference. If I set the MPG once I'm on the motorway at cruising speed I probably can get the reading up to 30 but I always think its better to take the average after a days driving and that tends to sit at between 23.3 and 24.3. Thats probably 1.5 more than it was when I picked it up just over 900 miles ago. He Who Dies With The Most Toys Wins

At 74 mph ! on a long trip you should be getting 30ish mpg . Hypothetically Rolling Eyes if you were driving at 90 - 95 mph on the autobahn, you will see low 20's mpg. As you go past the 75 mph you'll notice a big increase in consumption. Around town, stop start, no long runs 18mpg to 22mpg is all you'll get.

Suggest you take your lead lined boots off, drive it like a Nun for a week and see what figures you get Laughing

Its 2.5 tonnes and will drink the fuel if you try to drive it like a Porche. MY10 TDV6 HSE, Alaska White, Ebony with Contrast, Park Heat, Paddle Shift, Privacy, Heated Steering Wheel, Extended & Premium Leather,
