MY10 Oil changes

Hi guys - about to be a proud new owner of the MY10 RRS. Can someone help me clarify the following.
1) service intervals will be 16000 miles and cost about £400 per service ??
2) will the oil need changing before the 16000 miles or will this wait till the service ??

I will be doing 20000 miles per annum so just want to get an idea of costs so i can budget going forward.

Thanks guys 2016 MY16.5 HSE, 21" Rims, Waitamo Grey, Cirrus Leather, Extended Leather, Meridian sound

i ain't no dizzy rascal

The car has a service indicator - if you look in the owners manual it tells you how it works, but basically every 15000 miles or 12 months (note OR 12 months) which ever comes first. The oil will go for longer than the service intervals but LR does it at service time. No need to change it between services unless you really want to, but why do it more often unnecessarily! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

when i look in my service portfolio manual for my MY2010 RRS (page 9) it simply says "refer to your service level indicator". I can't see any indication of it being time based too. As far as i can tell you just keep driving it until the car says it needs a service??

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Cairns Blue

There is a Oil service time interval time set with a 365 day counter in the engine ECU, there is also
Time limit to warn "Oil Service Required Soon" set at 14 days along with
Time limit to warn "Oil Service Required Now" set at 0 days and a counter for
Time limit to warn "Oil Service Required Overdue" which will keep going of its head for 128 days.

So in a nut shell 14 days before your oil is due you will know about it, if you igonre it 14 days later it will tell you and it will keep telling you for 128 days untill you listen lol Mr. Green
