LED licence plate bulbs

I saw this add on fleabay and i was just wondering:

What is your opinion about these LED license plate bulbs for the RRS?

1.Does it realy look better?
2.Is it safe for the system?
3.Is it approaved by the the local rules and regulations?
4.Is the only adventage perhaps for the police?
5.Will say: My car is my hobby!! (Which it realy isn't, my car is the same as it rolled out some years ago)

Re: LED licence plate bulbs

Mate I have the LED bulbs on my car from the day I bought it.

1.Does it realy look better?
In my opinion it does look a lot better (especially if you number plate is on white surface as most of the EU countries)

2.Is it safe for the system?
Will leave this to the more technical guys

3.Is it approaved by the the local rules and regulations?
It illuminates the number plate lot more than the standard bulbs so can see why it would be against the rules and regulations. Plus some car makers fit led bulb lights anyway.

4.Is the only adventage perhaps for the police?
As I said in 3. it illuminates the plate more so I would guess that the police can see it better but as far as I know radars do not really take the illumination of the plate into account anyway

Hope that helps Thumbs Up

they do look good, but the bulbs do flicker after a few months and need replacing more than normal ones.....but it's no big deal....

Hi

Landrover have just fitted these bulbs in the 2010 cars interior lamps.
I dont have a price yet ive only just found the part number scrounging arround on Microcat.

The bulb kits i was related to are what a company i know does, i was just offering them asa favour to him.

You can find him here, im unsure of his prices at the moment i know they change from time to time.

http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/Bolt-On-Bits...QQ_armrsZ1

Tell him you are from the RRS or D3 forum if you contact and ask him for some discount.
Send messages to Ian.

Regards Pete

Pete just to clarify, does this mean the interior of MY10 cars is fully illuminated by white led lamps?
