Problem finding a permanent power source>

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone can help with this, i have a new MY10 TDV8 HSE collected it on monday, had a tracker fitted but is shows all power lost when car is locked up. The guy who fitted it connected the power to the rear 12V outlet as he said thats where he fitted them with the old model, however this is obviously not a reliable source. would be grateful for any help. MY10 TDV8 HSE

Have a look here.

This gives permanent power to the plug in the boot and the one behind the center consolle.

Just remember not to leave anything plugged in or you will run down the battery. '08 RRS TDV8

Does it need permanent power then or to charge when required?

Just wondering which Tracker you had fitted and how do you know that it shows all power lost when car is locked up?

It is just that I have had a Tracker fitted and wondering if I might have same problem... Sad Arrived - RRSport 2016 HSE SDV6 HSE

thanks for the replys, Flydive is this set up the same as the mew MY10 ? To avoid confusion the tracker is not for security as such and is not the "Branded tracker" i should have been clearer, i have a tracking device fitted to all my company vehicles so that we know where they are and can track their speed and movements etc, i had a spare one and thought it was a good idea to fit it to the RRS as the office can see where i am and i can see where it is should it go missing ! i can log on to the internet and get a full breakdown of movements etc this is how i can see that the trackers power source is switching off, the unit has an internal battery when external power fails, and the report tells me that when the car is started and moving the tracker is ok, once the car is stopped and locked it switches off. Would just like to say that the forum is great for a neww RRS owner, very helpfull thanks. MY10 TDV8 HSE
