Depends on what each person means by deal. Big discount? Cheap finance? Cracking part ex price? Or all of the above?!

As one Dealer said to me once, 'today's discount, is tomorrows depreciation.'

so what did yah get? Whistle 2010MY Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE

'today's discount, is tomorrows depreciation.'

Fair point, but I'd rather get the discount, if they're around, and the depreciation, than pay the full price and still get the depreciation.

The no discount or depreciation arguement only works if all Dealers are offering exactly the same deal. And that's where it goes wrong. There will always be someone willing to offer something in the current market.

I heard the other line - Buy towards the end of the quarter, in case saleman's qtrly bonuses are due and they haven't hit their quota yet. Not sure how true that is.

Worked for me on my GAP ins, salesman dropped from £700 to £200. Thumbs Up

Red

that sounds like a cracking deal, you should be pleased. Thumbs Up

Taking the 0% on the balance almost seems like an insult to the Dealer and LR.

But smack their arse while you can. Laughing

Gazzer,

TBH I thought discounts would have been hard to come by on the MY10s. Thought there would be sufficient demand, seeing as they've changed the RRS, FFRR and D4, but obviously Dealers and LR must need to shift more than they are. If I bought at launch I wouldn't have expected one.

Hopefully the market will still be receptive when I change up, haven't made my mind up yet.

Can't get my head round shelling out more cash and getting new niggles to force me into LR Service Depts. Not been a happy experience for me. Driving it's a pleasure.

Might try CHPR, just it's still a bit of a trot for me to get to if the LR gremlins appear Confused

I agree, when you're thinking of spending £35k + on a car you expect a decent level of service.

If CHPR forum responses are anything to go buy, they'll definately get my business when I change my RRS. Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

New car being delivered next week.......all good stuff.'Very Happy'

Even better........discount was over £4k.'Cool'

Admittedly, the deal was done months ago, but if you get a rubbish LR dealer they may still have stock, good ones......are all sold out. .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

TDV8 HSE MY10 with pretty much everything including a vase of daffs on the back shelf, tropical fish collection in the centre console, hamsters in the spare tyre and finally sheep on the passenger seats.....for weight distribution, what else??

.

bigger discounts are available on the more expensive models i.e. TDV8 and S/C.

These cars are always going to go down in value. When they are at a price you can afford, buy it. Someone is always going to get a better deal, that's just how it is. 2010MY Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE
