2010MY looks great in white & are discounts available?

Just been to see the new 2010MY both in black and white.

Its really a huge jump in design, although the wood effect is naff to say the least.

LED's look great, seat are much better.........a real step forward! .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

TDV8 HSE MY10 with pretty much everything including a vase of daffs on the back shelf, tropical fish collection in the centre console, hamsters in the spare tyre and finally sheep on the passenger seats.....for weight distribution, what else??

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

It does look good in white but even better in Bali Blue! I spied a 2010MY S/C out on the M6 at Stafford Services in early July and posted a pic of it in the carpark on here. In today's issue of Autocar magazine there is a short test of the D4 HSE 3.0ltr and they reckon it is a huge leap forward for Discovery but still no on road threat to the X5 - offroad it slaughters everything! The test car looks superb in Galway Green with an Almond interior too. Autocar comment is that D4 is a 7 seater Range Rover since there have been changes not just to the exterior and interior but also the suspension has been sorted so there is less body roll - praise indeed, the ONLY fault that Autocar could find with the car................................. way too expensive at £49k in HSE trim with only yht esurround cams as extras. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Must admit I've paid £55k for my new one - that's after a £4.5k discount.

So, by the time you've ticked a bunch of boxes its creeping up to a £60k list price.

After seeing it in the flesh, absolutely no buyers remorse - just counting the weeks till delivery .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

Is there anyone offering anything off the new ones? Was at CHPR today and doesn't seem that way...i could be wrong - have left it with them. Loyalty discount not available, and tempted by the 65/35 deal - 65 deposit now and nothing to pay for 2 years and balance after 2 years.......

Confused but 95% sure to making the move....TDV6 3.0 and white with tan is on my agenda.....trouble is it's looking like a factory order...

Nick, no dealer worth his salt will discount a car that hasn't yet been launched, especially one that by all accounts is going to prove as popular in 2010MY guise as it did in 2005 at launch when there was a 9 month waiting list for them at one stage then! Give it 6 months and in the spring I bet you will get a tidy wedge off one. However there may be dealers around who are prepared to forgo some of their margin.................. I'm sure that Kam100 will be able to find you a car at less than list pretty soon after launch. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Sorry, but whoever suggested that discounts aren't available was not giving a realistic picture.

As I mentioned, I got £4.5k off without a huge amount of bartering, although I must admit there weren't smiles all round from the salesman.

Delivery is late next month although it may be held up as they've got a problem with the supply of rear light fittings.

If you need a contact for a deal then obviously, if everything is equal Charles Hurst must be the place to go, however, if you want an alternative that may be slightly more generous with their discounts, PM me. 'Thumbs Up'

To be honest, this is a relatively low discount, just got £6k off a Honda TDi Accord Auto Estate for September delivery! 'Razz' .

Hi Rad
I have just visited at my local LR dealer and had a good look at the new RRS.
I haven't got down to the figure yet but a bit tempted by the 2 yrs advance payment deal which ends 30 Sept.
I was thinking to go for the TDV8, but the performance figures are very close to the new TDV6 engine.
Hence, decision, decision, decision.
Just wondering what sort of deal did you get from the dealer, 4.5k off is list price sounds a very good deal.
What is the realistic discount I should be looking at say if I were to place an order this weekend.
Thanks
Beefy

2 year deal looks good, with 65% down and balance after 2 years - on a 50K car it was £28 down and £22 after 24 months.....

Tim, sorry to digress but were there any pictures of that Galway green 2010 RRS?

My 2010 will come in Alaska but there's still time to change the colour and I can imagine Galway green looking superb, and ... different. SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

The LR site has (surprisingly) updated their car builder with all the MY10 specs now, so you can paint the car Galway and see what it looks like Thumbs Up

Thanks for the tip, but I've played with that car builder before and almost any colour looks stunning.

The car builder is very well done, playing with lights and shadows. Just try and do a car in white and it looks more like a silver with an ivory touch and certainly not like the real Alaska, and it's the same with all the colours bar maybe the Santorini.

Last time I was in CHPR they had a Galway RRS on the forecourt but it had an Ebony interior which looked dull and boring (sorry that should be Stornoway Grey exteriors!) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
