Can confirm that my order is for a 2010MY, from an authorised LR dealer in the S.E.......and I assume that all LR dealers will have all sorts of exciting financial products on offer after all almost every car they sell has recently been updated.......well, er..with the exception of the Defender.

Footfall at your local LR dealer should be fairly brisk over the coming months, especially with the good press they keep enjoying.

However, irrespective of what dealers may wish you to believe, things are still tough out there, as they are in most industries and getting £4.5k of a new model RRS HSE TDV8 is probably in proportion to most other manufacturers discounts, I didn't think it was anything special.

Obviously, if you only visit one dealer, then you are less likely to gain an advantage. Ultimately, its an industry, that is trying to extract as much profit per unit as they can - and why not? That's the basis of capitalism.

The only question you have ask is 'how much' and if I can get the same for less, elsewhere, will you match the other dealers price.

After all, we're just the little man on the street, its the dealers that invite competitive purchasing, we just have to go with flow........or some nonsense like that! .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.


TDV8 HSE MY10 with pretty much everything including a vase of daffs on the back shelf, tropical fish collection in the centre console, hamsters in the spare tyre and finally sheep on the passenger seats.....for weight distribution, what else??

The car builder is very well done, playing with lights and shadows. Just try and do a car in white and it looks more like a silver with an ivory touch and certainly not like the real Alaska, and it's the same with all the colours bar maybe the Santorini.
