I'd be surprised if a dealer is willing to do that. It's not a simple job like removing mud flaps or changing alloys. When I bought a BMW X5 in the past, there was a perfect spec example but had this god awful walnut interior, the dealer said to change it would cost x amount of man hours and therefore could not justify it.

best bet is to try to find the right car (with Anigre wood) but perhaps compromise on paying a bit more for a factory option that you were perhaps not too fussed about. This way you get the wood you want and the option you paid for will hopefully add value at the point of resale.

I had ordered my 57 TDV8 with the straight grain walnut as per Tim's but it was delivered with the leather trim on the doors, it took a couple of weeks for the dealer to get it sorted out but I did get the parts I had originally ordered. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

You won't need to worry about getting any splinters from it either................................. more like a cut if you run finger along the edge, it isn't a brilliant reproduction of timber IMHO and it sure isn't "real" and on my driver's door it is wearing away! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The wood trim on th 2010MY covers more of the dash than in the photos of Tim's TDV8. It frames the all new centre console. See interior pic in article below...

Thanks you must be very excited. Hope mine comes next week .Its built but sitting in a compound at LR !! The demo car at the dealer has the black wood with Ebony which is very nice but I had no option other than the car I am buying as I wanted a certain spec which included surround cameras . I could not spec a car until 2010 post VAT increase hence trying to find one thats built with the spec I wanted. |
