[quote="npinks"]At least my insurance company has approved and made me a payment within 5 hours of been notified to get exactly the same door fitted. It's done it's job this time so I have a little faith in it

Just had the car stolen by the same method. What door/lock do you have as I need to replace my doors.

I got my doors from a window fitter in Leeds

The frames themselves are WHS HALO the range i have is the Eclipse Range and seem very sturdy and heavy due to IIRC a steel frame within

I have spoken to WHS HALO and they say they provide the doors and frames only, the locking system was a YALE one, which is put in by the companies who make the doors up (the fitters fabrication company) but I don't know who these were so i can't advise on this.

The only change I had done from standard when the original doors was put in a year or two ago was have the locks changed to Garrison Break Secure Locks. These were put in by CASAC, who upgraded them free of charge due to my garage been broken in to on christmas eve a year ago and it was part of the securing the whole house thing they did. Apparently these will break off in a locked and closed state if the try to break them and a one of the best you can get (so they told me)

I took these barrels out of my old door as they hadn't actually touched them for some reason, police said they was disturbed or got down to the lock and found they wouldn't get passed them, and I have put these into my new doors, instead of the YALE barrels.

This is what my door look like

Hope that helps

last friday a friend had a architect round to look at an extension and was downstairs talking, when his wife went up stairs to check the baby, she saw two lads in her bedroom, placing camcorders, jewelery etc into a pillow cover.

They ran, and her husband gave chase and eventually caught one of them and police caught the other too

they must have a habit to keep to go into a clearly occupied house to steal

Police gave them bail, so i presume they'll be out doing still

All i could do was ask why they had a camcorder in the bedroom Whistle Laughing

You should have asked the Butler to show them out, just not past the launch pad or they may have attempted to hotwire your space shuttle! WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

Bets piece of advice after having gone through all the above when my car was stolen is to fit new barrels but most importantly fit a £10 deadlock on the inside, these are piece of cake to fit and even if they get the lock open or remove the barrel the door remains secure. https://www.upvc-hardware.co.uk/safety-sec...r-406.html

I looked at those but then thought that two screws into the plastic would easily be ripped out with a tug of the door. Not sure there is any metal in a modern UPVC window to screw to
