RRS S/C w/ Overfinch kit

Thought I'd share a few shots of my RRS with Overfinch kit, might not be everyones cup of tea but personally have always liked the Overfinch kit - although I am pretty sure I will go for a HST one next as they have really grown on me

Watchaholic, I'm not a fan of Black........................... but that is a nice motor you have. Does the Aircon not struggle a bit in a balck car in your sunshine and heat?
Don't rush out and buy an HST..............................................wait a little as there is rumoured to be something even better coming along after 2010MY 5.0 S/C, take a look at Misery or Will_Wonka's signatures Whistle Whistle 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Inteeeeresting Wink Okay shall do cheers ! No rush as happy with the car and something new and shiny is always better ! Twisted Evil

Nah the aircon is fine actually even though its supposedly peak summer at the moment, the tints make a huge difference in keeping the car cool. The only down side to black that I have found is that its extra dusty/sandy and even a freshly washed / waxed car lasts only a few hours unlike the uk where you *could* get away with it looking shiny for a day or two Wink

Tim - I know black attracts the heat but why would that potentially make the A/C struggle?

Do you mean black = heat = warm engine area = struggle to product cold air?

Watchaholic - Lovely motor!

My experience of black cars is they absorb the heat and the interior can get very warm as a result and unlike the aircon in FFRR's there have been reports of RRS aircon struggling with high ambient temperatures and humidity.
Must admit the aircon on my 2003MY FFRR was far better than that in either of my RRS's. The stratification was much better and I could never feel the blower changing between zones like I can with the RRS. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim - that's a fairy tale...

it isn't hotter in black cars compared to white ones - its just in black cars its hotter faster than in white but after 2 hours in the Dubai sun you got the same temperature inside - the black tints help - but that's it....

PS. Now you know why i wear white jeans in my black car - i don't get to hot like this Twisted Evil

BENDER !!!! btw nice car you got there Smile

Nice... the black alloys not to my taste, but good looking motor.

Foggy day in Dubai, or is just heat haze?

Word of the day - stratification - I had to look that up.

Interesting theory though, cheers Tim.

Rofl ! will have to look into buying some white jeans too Whistle

Yea it was a real hazy day, think we had sand storms all week long - still meant it was cooler then it had been. The gf has a white RRS now after driving my RRS for a bit and personally I dont think the white or black colours make any difference at all with that much heat, now though after owning this car for a little while I think the white looks a lot better most of the time as it looks cleaner.

Am dreading to see the condition of my cars when I fly back next week as have skipped out during Ramadan and they have been sitting in the sand for almost 3 weeks now.

Thanks for the comments guys Thumbs Up

Tim, tbh the only downside is the attraction and visibility of dust and sand.

All cars get seriously hot in hot countries and the odd extra degree or two makes little or no difference.

Re your last comment, i'm intrigued. Can you drop me a PM with a little more meat on the bones? Whistle Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
